After the incident, he had recused himself to the archive to regain his composure, presumably whilst no one was looking. This room has not been frequented in quite some time; it stands as a reference for anyone who needs it. Breathe in aridity and dust. Dust. Dust.

He sees it; it’s on his hands--white powder on white bones, almost indistinguishable save for the separation of textures. No matter how many times he tries to wipe it off on his lab coat, it won’t come off. Rather, it spreads up his arms, for he can observe its progression through the sleeves and other fabrics, spreads across his body. And then he realizes he is the dust. His stability falls to the floor in an ashen heap.

Power surges and it is what brings him back, but he looks and one of the filing cabinets has been smashed against the wall. It is a freshly collapsed, battered heap of metal, scattered documents rain from above, and Sans wonders, When did I do that? He has no recollection of unleashing his magic, though suspects it occurred sometime while he was in his trance.

Another wave of panic sets in; someone would have surely heard that.
