Time and Work Aptitude Tricks – Maths Tricks for Competitive exams (Tricks no. 10)

Trick/Theory:- If ‘M1‘ men can do a piece of work in ‘D1‘ days working ‘H1‘ hours per day. And ‘M2‘ men can do the same work in ‘D2‘ days working ‘H2‘ hours per day.

Then,  M1D1H1= M2D2H2

Q-1) 39 men can repair a road in 12 days working 5 hours a day. How many days will be required to complete the work by 30 men working 6 hours a day ? a) 10 days b) 13 days c) 14 days d) 15 days e) N.O.T.

Solution: 39 men (M1) can repair a road in 12 days (D1) working 5 hours (H1) a day.

And, How many days (D2) will be required to complete the work by 30 men (M2) working 6 hours (H2) a day ?

Now apply Time and Work Aptitude Tricks:-

M1D1H1= M2D2H2

Now put, M1=39, D1=12, H1=5, M2=30 & H2=6

M1D1H1= M2D2H2

39*12*5=30* D2 *6

D2 = 13

Your ans a) 13 days [ 13 days will be required to complete the work by 30 men working 6 hours a day. ]
