born and raised in george town, malaysia to a young couple of chinese background, annabelle ( born as anhe ) is the eldest of four children. she grew up helping her mom raise her younger siblings while her father worked two jobs to put food on the table.

growing up, she had fallen in love with ballet and she was a complete natural at it. after begging her mom to enrol her in classes, she began her love affair with ballet that has lasted for the past 58 years.

from the moment of her first dance, anna knew there was nothing else she’d rather do with her life. after graduating from high school, she was lucky enough to have a scholarship lined up at one of the top ballet schools in the united states. she was ecstatic about venturing out into the world as an adult to make her dreams come true.

of course, while she was giddy about the prospect of making new york city her home, she was also terrified about living in a country so far from her own at the young age of 18. nevertheless, she settled herself into the ever bustling life of a new yorker, she made a close circle of friends and completed her training at the school, she couldn’t have been happier.

even though she had an offer to join the new york ballet company, she ultimately decided that what she really wanted to do was teach and pass on her passion for the art form onto the next generation.

along the way, annabelle met the one true love of her life, reuben maier. they have been happily married for the last 37 years, have two children and she couldn’t be happier.

 it’s  not  long  before  lyra  is  introduced  to  her  siblings.  and  living  in  san  francisco  is  no  easy  feat.  with  her  parents  constantly  working  to  make  ends  meet,  she’s  left  her  to  take  care  of  her  siblings.  she’s  unwillingly  become  the  third  parent.  and  while  her  parents  emphasized  that  she  should  be  focusing  on  school,  lyra  took  on  a  couple  jobs  here  and  there  to  help  with  the  bills.  shifts  at  the  local  convenience  store.  babysitting  for  her  neighbors.  safe  to  say  her  parents  were  less  than  pleased

002.  at  17,  lyra  heads  off  to  college.  her  parents  made  it  a  point.  she  received  pressure  to  become  a  doctor,  a  lawyer,  something  that  ensured  her  parents  that  she  is  their  retirement  plan.  or  at  the  very  least,  marry  rich  so  that  she’d  be  set  for  life.  something  she  wholeheartedly  disagreed  with.  she  never  wanted  to  be  a  housewife.  she  has  ambitions  of  her  own.  ambitions  that  could  get  the  very  best  of  her  if  she  didn’t  watch  out.

 she  gains  acceptance  to  columbia  and  graduates  with  a  degree  in  finance.  her  initial  track  in  finance  changes  when  she  decides  to  go  to  law  school.  she  didn’t  want  to  go  back  to  san  francisco.  what  was  she  going  to  do  there?  it’s  nothing  against  her  family,  she  just  valued  the  nearly  3,000  mile  distance  between  herself  and  them.she  decides  to  pursue  a  career  in  law.  when  she  sets  her  mind  on  something,  there’s  no  stopping  her.  she  dives  straight  into  law  school  at  harvard  after  scoring  a  178  on  her  lsat.  just  two  points  shy  of  a  perfect  score.

 003.  lyra  thrives  in  law  school,  quickly  working  her  way  up  to  being  first  in  her  class.  her  future  looks  promising.  cutthroat.  ambitious.  made  to  prosper  in  big  law.  being  a  high  achieving  individual  means  she’s  bound  to  draw  some  form  of  attention.  

 and  she  does.  she  lands  herself  a  highly  coveted  summer  intern  position  at  an  established  firm  in  new  york  by  the  end  of  her  first  year.  by  her  second  and  final  year  of  law  school,  she’s  landed  offers  to  highly   coveted  summer  associate  positions.

 while  her  law  career  looks  promising,  she  neglected  to  focus  on  other  aspects  of  her  life.  much  to  her  displeasure,  she’s  set  up  on  a  blind  date  with  her  future  husband  by  mutual  friends.  she  doesn’t  know  it  yet.  but  it  doesn’t  turn  out  to  be  what  she  expected.  it  wasn’t  all  that  bad.  they  start  dating.  and  by  the  time  lyra  finishes  law  school,  they’re  engaged.

 004.  by  the  end  of  law  school,  lyra  receives  multiple  offers  and  accepts  a  position  in  new  york.  she  and  her  fiancee  make  the  permanent  move  to  new  york  to  start  their  new  life.  and  to  no  one’s  surprise,  she  makes  waves.  eventually,  she’s  promoted  to  junior  partner.  one  of  the  youngest  at  the  firm.

 a  couple  years  into  her  partnership,  lyra  and  her  husband  now  have  a  child  in  tow.  things  could  not  be  going  better  for  her.  she’s  close  to  making  senior  partner  at  the  firm.  it’s  well  within  her  sights  and  almost  GUARANTEED.  and  she  gets  the  bid  from  her  mentor.

 but  as  life  would  have  it,  the  firm  gets  into  some  hot  water  and  lyra  has  to  contemplate  her  options.  she’s  only  been  senior  partner  for  a  total  of  two  years  before  this  happens.  and  she  walks.  a  former  colleague  reached  out  to  offer  her  a  senior  partnership  at  their  law  firm  in  los  angeles.  so  she’s  off.  it’s  been  three  years.  her  and  her  family  make  the  move  and  settled  at  wisteria.

BACKGROUND .

001.  theodora  sinchai  is  born  in  bellevue,  washington  to  chayaphon  “atlas”  sinchai  and  rosalind  laurent  as  the  eldest  of  two  children.   atlas  craved  stability.  with  an  established  career  in  finance,  he  was  more  than  content  to  eventually  settle  down.  rosalind  was  flighty.  always  looking  for  an  adventure.  and  that’s  how  she  meets  atlas.

somehow  the  two  ended  up  married  with  kids.  maybe  money  had  something  to  do  with  it.  or  it  was  love.  either  way,  the  sinchai  family  are  by  no  means  poor.  and  neither  are  the  laurents.  atlas  is  able  to  afford  the  stability  he  so  desperately  wanted  for  his  family.  rosalind  on  the  other  hand,  quickly  grew  tired  of  suburban  life  in  bellevue  soon  after  her  children  were  born.  she  never  wanted  to  be  around  her  children.  often  looking  for  excuses  to  jet  off  on  a  trip.  growing  up  around  that  wasn’t  easy.  theo  is  more  often  than  not  under  the  care  of  their  father  or  paternal  grandparents.

002.  at  age  7,  theo’s  parents  are  told  that  she’s  a  ballet  prodigy.  they’ve  got  promise  and  it  can  only  get  better  if  they  continue  their  training.  and  that’s  what  she  decides  to  do.  what  does  she  know?  she’s  only  7  at  the  time  and  thoroughly  enjoying  ballet  class.  

things  do  change  a  little  when  her  mother  starts  paying  more  attention  to  her.  theo  isn’t  used  to  it.  but  it’s  also  comforting  for  her  mother  to  want  to  spend  time  with  them.  at  age  10,  theo  auditions  for  the  joffrey  ballet  school’s  new  york  city  ballet  summer  intensive  program.  she’s  accepted.  no  surprise  there.

003.  when  her  mother  hears  of  this,  theo  is  suddenly  spending  A  LOT  more  time  with  her.  and  very  focused  on  advancing  her  daughter’s  dance  career.  it’s  the  most  time  theo’s  spent  with  their  mother  in  years.

at  15,  her  parents,  namely  her  father,  tells  her  and  her  sibling  of  their  divorce.  so  theo  slowly  starts  to  fixate  on  her  dancing.  perfecting  every  move.  becoming  a  soloist.  landing  the  lead  in  productions.  they  don’t  know  it  yet,  but  their  mother  uses  their  talent  as  an  accessory.  a  way  to  say  she  “successfully  raised”  a  prodigy.

at  18,  she  leaves  for  college.  she  works  her  ass  of  and  gets  accepted  to  juilliard  for  dance.  and  they’re  ecstatic.  again,  can’t  really  narrow  down  why.  is  it  the  validation  of  being  accepted  into  a  competitive  school  for  dance,  no  less?  or  maybe  it’s  because  theo  can  finally  get  away  from  their  mother?  also  possible.

004.  at  22,  theo  auditions  for  different  ballet  companies.  the  royal  ballet.  new  york  city  ballet.  los  angeles  ballet.  and  eventually  makes  the  decision  to  sign  a  contract  with  los  angeles.  ultimately  making  the  decision  to  relocate.  to  no  one’s  surprise,  she  thrives.  theo  slowly  moves  up  the  ranks.  principal  dancer  is  in  her  sights.  and  at  27,  it  pays  off .  and  most  recently,  theo  decides  to  sign  a  lease  with  wistera  ,  making  the  commute  to  work  that  much  closer.

Victor grew up in your average middle class American household -- watched football on Sundays, family dinners every night, a mother and father that didn't express much affection but didn't outright despise one another. He did well enough in school to get accepted into Dartmouth. He majored in Literary Theory & Criticism and got his masters in Latin.

Along the way, he met his first wife, Angela. They met his freshman year got married right after undergrad. Just a short six years later, after finding out about Angela's years of infidelity, he filed for divorce. While he tells others it was an amicable separation, that couldn't have been farther from the truth. Angela got the house, and half of his savings. Victor moved to from Boston, MA to Los Angeles in 2004, shortly after his divorce to get a fresh start.

He started teaching at the local university, sharing his love of the classics with young, open-minded students. Since his divorce, he hadn't dated seriously.

Victor bought a cute little cottage on the outskirts of LA when he moved but found since he wasn't in the middle of all the hustle and bustle, that it was quite lonely. In 2019, he sold his house and moved to Wisteria, where he could meet like minded people.

born  1952  in  nyc  to  a  devout  jewish  couple  ,  reuben  was  always  an  avid  reader  of  anything  fantasy  or  sci-fi  ,  especially  comics  .  his  first  job  was  as  a  shop  clerk  for  the  bookstore  around  the  corner  from  his  childhood  home  ,  where  he  more  often  than  not  spent  at  least  half  his  paycheck  on  the  latest  editions  of  his  favourite  series  .

after  completing  high  school  ,  he  got  an  apprenticeship  with  an  electrician  .  not  the  most  interesting  of  careers  ,  but  certainly  fairly  lucrative  .  once  he  was  fully  trained  ,  reuben  moved  to  california  to  start  his  own  business  ,  wanting  a  change  of  scene  (  and  a  warmer  climate  )  .

Growing up in Ireland Kieran got into a bit too much trouble with the law and with his peers, swindling all the lads around him for anything of value

He realized from a young age he was quite good at it, and decided to capitalize on his talents full-time

Though he wouldn’t label himself as a grifter, that’s exactly what he is. He picks out his mark, worms his way into their life, and bleeds them dry

■ BIOGRAPHY ■

Born in Dublin, Kieran grew up in a relatively normal household with his failure of a musician father, and his mum, a schoolteacher

His poor parents struggling to make ends meet gave little attention to their wayward son. His father was a deadbeat alcoholic, and his mother just didn’t have the time to spare

Being as unruly and attention-seeking as he was, his parents eventually sent him to live with his old aunt Fiona at the age of 15, who was far from lucid, bless her soul

Fortunately for him, his aunt thought he was his dad, and that they were living in their old childhood home instead of her rundown flat in Hackney. He used the opportunity to try and make a name for himself instead of attending class like all the other good schoolchildren

Up until the age of 18 he worked the odd job until he’d befriended an expat American woman, 7 years his senior, and married her. He convinced her the life they would build together when she returned stateside would be everything she ever dreamed of; and so, several years later, they returned together to California 

Whenever anyone asks how he managed to get a green card, he states he sought political asylum in America on account of ‘the potato famine’ in Ireland

By 25 all his hard work had finally paid off. And by 26, one year after living in America, he was divorced. Nobody had told him how difficult it would be trying to build a life for himself there 

Determined to live out his sole dream of living a rock n’roll lifestyle, it was then he used up all his savings to buy a mini-bus, cruising across the West coast and picking up stragglers along the way

He began looking into establishing a non-profit religious organization that would allow him to become tax-exempt, giving him the perfect opportunity to rake in tons of money while never paying a cent to uncle sam

His ‘organization’ did not hold. His followers eventually exposed him as a fraud, causing him to make a quick getaway to Mexico before the authorities could get involved

Only when things quieted down did he return. He completely changed his game, deciding to capitalize on the health & wellness industry instead. With all the barefoot, bohemian, goat yoga fanatics that LA had to offer, he finally feels he’s found his calling 

If hired as a Yoga instructor he will teach it - but his fees are exorbitant. Luckily for him, LA is full of people where money is not an issue
