Last but not least, Aquacampus is finally done! Figuring out the color scheme and placing the rainbow markings were a pain in the butt, but it was well worth it. I gave it rainbow motifs to go with the sight theme, since rainbows are (1) flashy and colorful, (2) caused by water droplets, and (3) very fitting for the secondary Fairy typing as well. With Aquasus having a stormy color scheme, I wanted Aquacampus to look more like the sky after a storm: still a bit cloudy, but not as dark. The desaturated colors also bring out the rainbows more. The head fin draws inspiration from the plumes worn by parade horses, which are also very flashy. This also conveniently avoids obscuring anyone drawn riding it, unlike the original's fin mane. I initially added the ring in the center of the inside of the wings to fill up the otherwise-empty space there, and then realized that kinda made it look like an eye, which was very thematically fitting. Doing these redesigns of the Symphora starters' last two stages has been challenging, but great. The progress I've made artistically since I made the originals becomes so tangible, and I love that feeling. If you ever feel like you're not moving forward, I'd encourage you to take something you made a few years ago and take another crack at it. Signature Move: Chromatic Circle - Fairy - Status - The user protects itself with a circle of light, which forms a rainbow over itself and allies for four turns if an opponent makes physical contact. (Same rainbow effect as the Fire/Water Pledge combo.)
