The third and final of my Symphora starter do-overs. I know green shinies tend to be a little hit-and-miss, but I hope this color scheme works. Looking back at the original, I can definitely see an improvement. As far as process goes, I pretty much did the same thing here that I did on the Bunfire redo, except without the additional light source. I feel like the parts of the outline I colored in might be just a tad bright, but otherwise I'm pretty happy with it. I feel like I've learned a thing or two from making these, and had fun in the process. A bit of experimentation is just what I needed, even if it's not much. Maybe I should do it more often, and go a bit further next time.

The final evolution of the final starter! Those fins are kind of annoying to vector, though. Thank Arceus for symbols.

#009 Aquacampus(aqua+hippocampus) Sea Horse Pokemon Water/Fairy Gender ratio: 87.5% male, 12.5% female Breeding: Water 1/Field Base stats: 112/75/95/83/100/65 Ability: Torrent HA: Sea Breeze Evolves from Aquasus at level 32 Ct: It is a favorite among collectors. Some people say that particularly exotic varieties are the mark of an expert breeder. Ar: Aquacampus is capable of traveling by land, water, and sky. This versatility combined with its stamina make it an excellent Pokemon to ride. Signature move: Chromatic Circle - Type: Water - Category: Status - The user creates a protective rainbow that reduces damage from physical and special attacks for five turns. This move can only be used in the rain. (I really didn't want to recycle another move under a different type, but a Water-type rain-based Aurora Veil just made sense.)

Whew, two stages down, one to go. Unless I make Mega evolutions, which is fairly likely-ish. Then I'm not sure what I'll prioritize next. But in the meantime, here ya go:

#002 Paralisk (bird-of-paradise+paralyze+basilisk) Bud Pokemon Grass Gender ratio: 87.5% male, 12.5% female Breeding: Grass/Dragon Base Stats: 68/70/65/70/67/75 Ability: Overgrow HA: Petrify Evolves from Peckatrice at level 14 Ct: The thorns on Paralisk’s back are poisonous. Anything that dares attack it from behind will likely end up incapacitated for days. Ar: They hunt in small packs, using their keen sense of smell to track their prey, and their leaves for camouflage. If you see one in the wild, you are probably surrounded. #005 Wolpertorch (wolpertinger+torch) Hare Pokemon Fire/Fighting Gender ratio: 87.5% male, 12.5% female Breeding: Field/Human-like Base Stats: 60/80/58/77/55/85 Ability: Blaze HA: Rabbit’s Foot Evolves from Bunfire at level 18 Ct: Its evolution has made its upper body significantly stronger, adding powerful punches to its arsenal of attacks. It takes some time to get used to its newfound strength, though. Ar: Wolpertorch is well known for its blazing speed. For a long time, many people doubted that it even existed, because it rarely stands still long enough to get a good look at it. #008 Aquasus (aqua+pegasus) Sea Horse Pokemon Water Gender ratio: 87.5% male, 12.5% female Breeding: Water 1/Field Base Stats: 85/60/72/63/75/60 Ability: Torrent HA: Sea Breeze - This Pokemon flies without a care in the world. (Ignores opponents' boosts to Attack, Special Attack, and Accuracy when attacked. Also provides immunity to Ground-type moves.) Evolves from Aquus at level 16 Ct: Using its newly developed “wings,” Aquasus swims as gracefully as if it were flying through the water. However, very few of them are able to actually fly yet. Ar: This Pokemon is popular for its easygoing nature and for the lovely spots on its mane, wings, and tail. Some are specially bred for more vibrant markings.

Here are the starters for the hypothetical Pokemon Cataclysm and Armageddon. After much searching (and putting stuff through Google Translate), I have named my fanmade region "Symphora," from the Greek word "symfora," meaning "calamity." (After a little more research, I found out that the way I had spelled it meant "gathering together," which is also kind of fitting in its own little way...) Without further ado, here is their Dex data: Peckatrice (peck+cockatrice) Bud Pokemon Grass Gender ratio: 87.5% male, 12.5% female Breeding: Grass/Dragon Base Stats: 53/55/45/55/47/60 Ability: Overgrow Hidden Ability: Petrify - This Pokemon's gaze can freeze its foes. (Small chance for eye-based moves such as Mean Look to freeze the target.) Ct: The bud around its head opens up to reveal eyespots, which it uses to frighten predators away. The bud remains closed when not in use. Ar: Peckatrice have a great sense of smell, identifying each other by the scent of their flowers. This may also explain why they do not bump into things often despite the bud covering their eyes. Bunfire (bunny+bonfire) Rabbit Pokemon Fire Gender ratio: 87.5% male, 12.5% female Breeding: Field/Human-like Base Stats: 45/60/48/52/40/70 Ability: Blaze Hidden Ability: Rabbit's Foot - The power and accuracy of kicking moves is boosted. (Probably about +20% power and +10% accuracy.) Ct: It is surprisingly strong for its size. Bunfire’s kicks are powerful enough to down opponents that are several times larger than it. Ar: It uses its red-hot horns to blast its opponents with flame, or to ram into them. This Pokémon should be handled with care. Aquus (aqua+equus) Sea Pony Pokemon Water Gender ratio: 87.5% male, 12.5% female Breeding: Water 1/Field Base Stats: 55/40/56/45/65/54 Ability: Torrent Hidden Ability: Unaware (It gets a different Hidden Ability in later stages that has only the defensive aspect of Unaware, but adds a Ground immunity.) Ct: These Pokémon are very social, and love to play with their Trainer and with other Pokémon both in water and on land. Ar: Aquus loves to run and feel the wind in its mane. The area behind its shoulders begins to itch just prior to its evolution. Which one would you choose? UPDATE: Added base stats and breeding info.

Aquus

This is another recolor of an old drawing. I made up aquuses (aqui?) a long time ago, and they’re fun because they’re pretty, but totally impractical. I mean, I can kind of justify the wings as some kind of flippers, but hooves just don’t serve a purpose under water.

hAAAAHAHA People will come to my door with pitchforks for this, I am sure. Also I’m sorry this took me so long to respond to, tumblr didn’t inform me that you’d sent this.

I actually got the grief seed custom made for my 18th birthday, I’m extremely sorry to say that it’s one of a kind with a rainbow moonstone that the jeweller had to obtain from India.

I think it’s highly unlikely that there’ll be another one. BUT knowing me, I am probably wrong~
