When Mars retrogrades it often seems as if a lot needs to be done. However with the planet in backward motion things are likely to be unfinished/spoiled as a result of impatience and impulsive actions. Being rash spells disaster and danger during this transit, because the planet loses its positive action during the particular cycle.
For instance, if a new job is started during Mars retrograde, regardless of how much energy and good intent is put into the job efforts will go unnoticed/unappreciated. Activities will go wrong, lead to trouble and/or make little or no impression on anyone. Mars represents initial action, new beginnings. Therefore, in retrograde it is a negative indication of the outcome for the person (s) who takes the initiative. If a war is started the aggressor will lose, if a lawsuit is begun the initiator will lose also.
This is not a good time to purchase a vehicle of any kind because it could be faulty in its mechanism and cause possible accident. Mars represents blood/sharp objects, so it is unwise to undertake surgery of any kind during this time, problems, difficulties and delays could arise. Weddings are another area to exercise care and caution. The chance of conflict, confrontation and all sorts of troubles are likely are likely to happen the day of the wedding and throughout the marriage, affecting not only the married couple, but involving relatives too.
Mars will be retrograde in Aquarius for 8 weeks. Mars in this sign can only be described as “explosive”, in many ways literally. Mars is the ruler of Aries and Scorpio, with attributes such as aggression, blood, battles, adrenaline, surgery, sharp objects, congress, fire, assassination, cruelty, danger dentists, leaders, military, passion, illegal activities, resentment, sport and self-confidence, to name just a few.
