After all this time, the sun still rose and stars still filled the night sky. The same could go for her own appearance, never changing since she was changed eons ago. Not even immortality could bring old scars to fade. No, she was left to be reminded of them with every (once warm) touch of the woman who lie beside her.
A taut smirk danced upon her lips as she brushed a few orange strands from the woman’s face, unchanged as she’d seen last. She might not be able to bathe in the sunlight any longer, but it hadn’t taken away from the sheer brightness that came with such fiery hair--and temper, she noted silently, recalling just a few hours ago, when they’d first found each other.
But there was more to do than to linger on old memories.
The night had only come, and there was plenty to do, starting with breakfast. With an almost reluctant sigh, she rose and decided to make her way into the kitchen. The fridge was the first target. There were a few blood packets that would be able to sedate the young vampire, but it wouldn’t be enough for herself. She would have to hunt soon. (At least, that’s what she told herself. There was more than enough to sedate her hunger if she hadn’t taken account of just how much Kasumi needed for those injuries.)
Sabrina looked back towards her bedroom, wondering if she should leave a note. The woman might not even be back when she returned, or maybe she wouldn’t even wake by then. She shook her head at the memory but eventually decided to do so anyways.
