So, Thoros was able to bring Beric back from the dead so many times because he needed to make it to the North alive, so he could be at Winterfell during the battle of The Long Night, so he could save Arya during the battle, so she could be alive to kill the Night King.
Also, Melisandre was able to bring Jon back from the dead, because he needed to go home and take back Winterfell from Ramsey so Arya could hear that he was there and decide to go back to Winterfell instead of heading south to Kings Landing, so that she would be home during the battle of The Long Night, so she could kill the Night King!
I mean... I am not a religious person, but maybe this Lord of Light is on to something?
