I often think about how qaddafi would feel seeing what Dubai and the UAE has become these past few years. I wonder if he’d feel vindicated because he was right about how their dealings with America/England would be their demise but it would also bring instability to everyone because they chose money over their own country and its people. I know he’d have A LOT to say right now if he were alive…

(It might be logistically incorrect but I’d like to think a lot of these would not have happened if he’d still been alive)

Yeah, I often wonder through the years what his take would be on various events if he were still here. Because when he was alive he always had opinions and advice for everyone in the world not just Libya.

I think he would be sad to see any Arab country, including the gulf states, shoot themselves in the foot. It wouldn't give him any satisfaction to say "told you so," obviously his first thought would be "I tried to warn them" but his very next thought would be "ok, now what do we do to fix this?" Every time.

That's one of the things I love and admire about him.

What is your favourite era of Gaddafi? Mine was 90s Gaddafi because he was really becoming a sassy old man but he looked so good too! 96 was a crazy time for him especially after the English tried to assassinate him but he responded to it with such tenacity.

I'm not just saying this, but all of them! 😩 in fact I think that's why it's so impossible to get bored of him, he kept evolving over the decades and, even on a microcosmic level over the course of a single day, sometimes! So, no matter what mood I wake up, there's a version of him for it.

There are specific years when he was even hotter than usual though and I think it's because something special was going on in his life that he was proud of or considered a milestone? (Trying not to let my mind go to because he had a new girlfriend... although the timetables do line up pretty close I, um, so anyway)

1969 (obviously)

1977 -finishing touches of his Revolution, declaration of people's power;

1984 -starting of construction on the Manmade River (he also survived a pretty serious assassination attempt by the British then too but not as bad as the ones in 96/98)

1990 -I don't know really, he just looked hot all the time and seemed like he was on a back to the desert thing;

2008, also not sure, but damn he looked good.

And when it comes to what he was doing with his life, my favorite times were the early 70s when he was crushing it on his socialist goals and subduing the West, and then the late 2000s when he was doing all those publicity stunts and trying to make Africa the world's next superpower.

I can't find it but someone once shared a meme of Nasser that said "guys like this have a hundred percent chance to steal your girl" and I was like "why do you want to hurt me like this?"
