Watched Nayla Al Khaja’s Arabana (6:44) short film on Vimeo today - Day 72 of my #90minDirectedbyWomen yearlong film viewing practice.
Have you explored Nayla Al Khaja’s work?
Arabana speakers?
Weird question but is anyone on this site Arabana? Or does anyone know how to speak Arabana? I know that may be unlikely, since it seems only 12 or less people even speak it (according to google anyway) but maybe someone will all the same? It's both a language and culture/group of people from Australia for those wondering... I'm actually trying to write a children's story that has a part about an opal in it and I was hoping I could include just a little information about the land they are found in and the native people who live there and all... It's not like a really in depth thing about Australia, I'm not anywhere near qualified for that but yea... I just wanted to know some common Arabana girl names and maybe the word for friend? It'd be super helpful! Lemme know!

Hello Readers, for those who doesn’t know what the Birwaz Workshop is, it is basically a photographers workshop organised by the photographer Nasser Ashour, and the Word birwaz comes from “Frame” in arabic. and you can visit the older post about the last exhibition here.
what’s new this year? first the venue, it was held in Arabana which is an industrial area gallery and fits for the theme, and more participants who varied in skills.
for me I found most of the participants work was well done, and delivered a good concept while some others who were lost in translation had a good work but no concept but in general when it comes to art, you need to understand it and perceive it on your own.
although it would be nice for someone o explain it but sometimes it would just be inspiring and let your imagination roam free.
so good luck for everyone and thank you for making such activities.
