GHOST HUNTER AU WHERE JAKE IS A FRAIDY CAT GHOSTBUSTER AND ARADIA IS A PRETTY GHOST WHO HAS A CRUSH ON HIM
Jake H. English was a man of adventure, intrigue, and panache. At least, this is what he would tell anyone that asked, what he had written on his website that he posted ghastly tales of the unknown and the spooky. It was on his business cards, as well- hastily made in MS paint and cut out by hand on rough card stock that he would hand out whenever he got the chance, beaming.
That, unfortunately though, lead to one thing after another and after a traipsing through of an old and supposedly haunted clock tower he found himself even more... Gittery than normal.
Clocks would tick more loudly, his breath appearing in a puff before him as the hair on the back of his neck stood up. He had found some signs of activity there- from the EMF reader and a few phenomenon but nothing this Big.
Jake of course had gotten out of there as soon as he had enough footage, not going to sleep without his bedroom bathed in light for the next week (or two).
But that never seemed to help, and sometime after that when he was going through his souvenirs from his old "haunts" as he liked to call them, he held up the old, tattered red ribbon he'd kept from the clocktower.
"Hello!"
The greeting was clear as day, though it was night, and he fell back from the chair he was sitting in. A woman sat on his desk that he'd been hunched over not seconds ago and she was turning over the ribbon in her hands- more or less, it seemed that it never really touched her fingers as much as moved around them, twirling and twisting there in the air.
And that was when he realised that he could still see the blurred poster of an Indiana Jones movie through her.
"Y-Y-You- You're- a- You're a-"
"Ghost? Yup! Hi I'm Aradia, nice to finally meet you Jake."
