New Victory Road character illustration - Raimon Junior High!
Jon’s Totally Awesome Toku Pics: UltraMan Episode 38: A very nice Star Trek-ish episode of UltraMan. I am glad the Science Patrol got to go to another planet it just seems like something they'd do. This was good to see the team dealing with the monsters and environment of Planet Q and the crazy things they had to do to survive. Especially Toshio and Ide's oxygen tank jet pack to cross a valley to get back to the ship after they got the part they needed, this actually sounds more like a video game mission lol. I found it hilarious that Arashi got blinded this episode when he didn't the against the other monster earlier, it's like this is what you missed lol. Captain Toshio is just insane at times definitely with his crazy plans or weird rules lol. Hayata was good with coming up a plan when they were stuck and helping stay with Arashi. Though UltraMan continues to pull new things out of his arsenal when the Energy Disc and the Specium Ray both didn't work he pulls out his magical telekinesis to lift the monster with his mind and throw it away making it explode...I don't know where this came from but damn UltraMan has the most random move set ever lol. I'm just going to accept that Hayata just figured out this move here out of desperation instead of believing he could do it before, lol sometimes I just love random Toku ridiculousness. One episode left I'm not sure I'm ready for it but I can't wait.
Jon’s Totally Awesome Toku Pics: UltraMan Episode 37: This was another amazing episode! Literally saving all the best for last here. Poor Pigmon...*Cries* he went out helping the Science Patrol, I felt so bad for him because he didn't deserve to swatted like a fly. Anyways moving on to other parts I loved Ide and Hayata this episode because of Ide's depression that UltraMan has been saving the day and his weapons haven't done anything. It's realistic I mean even I sometimes have felt the same way watching it. Though this was great learning more about how Hayata operates as UltraMan because he doesn't take the Science Patrol for granted and he remembers all the times he was saved by them. Also that he doesn't transform unless things are going south for them makes me find him more likable and interesting. I also enjoyed him helping snap Ide out of his depression was great and Ide's new weapon was impressive. I also loved the combination between Ide and UltraMan taking one of the two monsters together. It was a great comrade episode just like the last one with Arashi and Hayata now with Ide and Hayata. We needed more episodes like this with character relationship building before but still better late than never.
Jon’s Totally Awesome Toku Pics: UltraMan Episode 36: They just saved all the good episodes for the end I guess lol. This was fantastic for Hayata, Arashi, and Ide. Mostly Arashi with his determination and wanting to defeat this monster and make up for his mistakes I enjoyed a lot. Also seeing Ide make a new blaster to help defeat monsters was good too, I'm glad that they show that he has been working on stuff for years to help defeat these monsters. I like that it shows that he is diligent and wants to help keep the world safe. I loved Hayata and Arashi's team work getting the kids out and distracting the monster. Also that Hayata's camaraderie made him come running even blinded from the hospital bed to go out and make sure his friend was safe. UltraMan fighting blind was something else and kind of weird with the lights not on in his eyes though his blind site looked better than mine without my glasses on lol. Still I'm glad that Arashi ended up making up for mistakes and helped UltraMan defeat Zaragas. Though I will say it was a bit weird for the Global Defense Committee to get all up in arms about attacking this monster making it more violent because some of the others did the same or they actually learned from the earlier monsters and actually wanted to save the city from collateral damage, so not really that weird at all in that perspective. Well 3 episodes left I both can't wait for them and going to be sad when I finish this series.
