It was starting to rain as we waited for the start of the race early on Sunday morning. I was running the half marathon, Hubby was walking it, Daughter was running the 10km and SIL was trying to go under 3.55.00 for the marathon so she could qualify for Boston. The Chch marathon has not happened for a couple of years due to COVID and this year there was a new course. I liked the new course. There were lots of twists and turns and places you could see the other runners. It must have been harder for the elite athletes having to dodge us weekend warriors at times. The course was too narrow to let them past easily but everything else was great. I was happy with my time. It was a fair reflection of the training I had done. I was very proud of Daughter for running the whole 10km without stopping. Hubby had knee issues so did really well and SIL smashed it finishing in 3.33.00. The rain stayed away and the crowds turned out to enjoy the day. So cool.
