She hadn’t screamed. The memory of her blood is hot across the bared skin of his hands, the red long since flaking. Ah, but the indignation blazing in her eyes was vivid as the hook did its work. He watches her now, unmoved, before reaching up. There is no gentleness to him. When he tugs at her scalp, the luscious gold of her hair is forgotten—he is interested in the trinket. Her ribbon unfurls as the Entity encroaches. Fingers curl around it in a fist. It is his now, he thinks, if not her life.

【 ♔ 】- The cycle vowed to never end, as many times as the hook had pierced through her shoulder— she had grown used to seeing herself bleed. The pain that would come after served as a reminder, however, that she was still alive, that there was still a way to escape this wretched loop. Those searching to kill and feed the Entity’s desires and the ones just simply looking to escape death and pain for just a moment, both of them would end up where they started— the campfire.

They were just slaves to a demon.

Quick and silent, but with precision. This masked man had grasped onto her, chased her down until she could no longer run. Flinging her onto the Entity’s weapon like it was nothing, the sensation of it tearing through her skin was most thoroughly felt and yet, no sound came out of her. Artoria was tired of this, exhausted from this chase that had gotten the both of them nowhere. He noticed it— the unsettling absence of a scream from pain and the fiery ocean irises that seemed to never leave him.

He stayed to return her gaze whilst any other Killer would have went on to catch the rest of the people that were trying to power up the generators. His hollowed eyes lingered upon her before the claws of the Entity would obscure her view.

No one was going to save her, she would notice, but this was a sacrifice that she had to make for the others to escape. But within the last few moments before the darkness would swallow her and the feeling of her body disintegrating into golden dust would come, a bloodied hand reached outwards to tug upon her blonde locks. Roughly, as if it was digging for something that had caught it’s eye— a treasure.

Soon enough, the multiple spider legs pierced her entire figure, for she could no longer shield herself from their hunger. Pale lips would pull back to bare teeth as her hair would fall loose and onto her shoulders. The blue ribbon from the back of her head entered her sights and soon, left it. And all she remembered was him, watching her go with something in his clenched fist, something that belonged to her.
