the getaway.
@arcnora ; bangkok, mission gone wrong
moonsoo's powers aren't necessarily geared for chaos. not the kind where everyone's running around, too scared and distracted to listen and internalize his words. when there's heavy ringing in his ears set off after an explosion that rattled the world around them. he shouldn't even be here. he knows what they'll say later at headquarters if he makes it back. that it wasn't supposed to go down that way, that his own orders would have surpassed such situations entirely, that some amount of information must have been leaked.
it doesn't make moonsoo any less angry.
it does, however, spark the beginnings of his own dissent. a desire to bypass orders he doesn't feel he needs to be following (it's not a sudden switch, but it’s here in mass violence and panic that his ego begins to grow, feeds off of his own fear and sense of entitlement).
he wasn't partnered up with nora initially, but he finds himself by her side when they manage to pull themselves out of the fray and into a side alley. his head hurts, and his ears still ring, but he glances sidelong at his newfound partner. moonsoo finds her maddening on the best of days (even if those days bleed into nights where they're tangled up together between the sheets of his bed), and he finds himself inhaling deep in an effort to dissipate his frustration, the adrenaline racing through his veins that's sounding off like a starting gun to his racing heart.
"what the fuck was that," moonsoo spits out the words like acid, though it's not aimed at nora so much as the situation at large. moonsoo hates when things twist outside the realm of his control. he can still hear screaming, watches bodies dart past the opening at the end of the alley, but he's not entirely sure which way they should run off to themselves. isn't entirely sure there aren't people stalking through that crowd with their pictures in one hand and a gun in the other. "any ideas? or are you going to go ghost and disappear?" the words come out like he wouldn't do exactly the same if their roles were reversed, which is a feat in and of itself, considering how outlandish that notion is. still, it's not a secret that moonsoo isn't all too fond of nora's powers.
