after you

That was that. With a sigh of relief she wipes the sweat from her brow, takes a moment to catch her breath. It felt a bit strange for once, to not so heavily rely on her abilities. She could have very well used the walls of the labyrinth to her advantage, a solid force to slam targets into, but that risked causing serious harm, so she refrained from doing it. No, instead she relied on her hand-to-hand training, on the agility and stamina she had built up through numerous sessions.
Not that she was complaining, definitely no, she just kind of expected something different. Maybe more practical applications of her actual water manipulating abilities than how well she could disarm a martial artist. There was nothing that said she couldn’t, but she also didn’t want to risk having to be extracted because she accidentally almost killed someone.
But damn, she could use a nap right now. She knew it was late, the sky was pitch black above her, and she knew she was alone, because the shifting of the walls had separated her from who she was with before, and of course, there was no end in sight still. It wasn’t like she didn’t have time. Not even a full day could have passed so far, and while she did have time she wasn’t sure if there was such a thing as being able to stop and get some rest. Before she could think very long on that though she heard a small voice in the distance, a young girl, a cry for help. The voice didn’t seem familiar, so it was unlikely it was one of her fellow arcana, or at least that’s what she assumed, so it must be someone else. But who?
Her steps are careful as she tries to locate the source. She wants to shout, see if that helps her find the girl, but also knows that would give away her location. There were people to fight before, so who’s to say there wouldn’t be here? And that was the last thing she wanted now. She hears the cry for help again though, and her steps quicken. She’s not sure how much time there is, or how dire the situation is, but someone needed help and she wasn’t going to just leave them. Constant, quiet reminders to herself though that it’s possible this was just a trap, another part in the evaluation.
Her steps slow though when she hears another set. It puts her on edge and she tilts the flashlight in her hand low, enough to see where she’s going, but not too far to give away her position. Just in case. She doesn’t have to go far though until she realizes the steps are much closer, in front of her? And she turns up the flashlight, sighing in relief to see Sungwoo.
“Oh, Sungwoo, hey”
She hears the cry again, and nods at the other. “Want to go check it out?” She doesn’t bother to ask how the other is, they’re standing here, both probably tired, but there was a task at hand and they might as well get to it.
