[ lingering hug ] to sihoon <3
different ways to hug someone
[ lingering hug ] a long-lasting hug between close friends or romantic partners
sihoon misses haneul every second that he's away. they'd known the distance was going to be hard, but it hadn't really sunk in just how hard until the end of sihoon's first month in california. the money to get home, or to fly haneul out to him, isn't a problem. his mother's bank account is flush with money, and she never hesitates to help her children when they really need it. but the time... his breaks at school are few and far between, and rarely long enough to justify flying all the way to seoul. haneul could come to him, of course, but his plants... sihoon doesn't want to be a burden to him, so he doesn't ask.
the first real chance he'd gotten, he'd text haneul immediately. had booked his flight before even checking if haneul was free, just told him to meet him at the airport. if he can't make it... well, sihoon will just go home and visit his family instead. he's nervous the entire flight. what if he lands and haneul isn't there? he's had his phone switched off the entire flight just in case he gets a refusal text. as he walks through arrivals, he almost fears the worst.
but then he sees him. he's easily recognisable by that nervous energy they both seem to share. he picks up his pace, somewhere between a jog and a run, as he closes the distance between them, suitcase in tow. and then haneul's arms are around him, and all the late night calls and the delays between texts have been worth it. sihoon's never wanted to kiss him as much as he does right now, but he isn't brave enough. maybe he could in stanford, but not here. instead, he links his arms around haneul's torso. tugs him that little bit closer, squeezes him that little bit tighter. he doesn't know how long they stand there embracing for, just that it doesn't feel long enough. won't ever feel long enough, when one of them always has to leave eventually.
