imala springwalker, esteemed archdruid of the cenarion circle, who has just witnessed one of the most atrocious things ever in her entire life:

Tell us about Imala :3

she was originally created as “carmelle” back on dawnbringer. when i first decided she would be come an Actual Character™, i decided that that was just a nickname given to her by an elf friend of hers, because imala developed a taste for thalassian caramel candies. with a thalassian accent, that’s how the word sounded: car-MEL.

imala is the only daughter among a total of 7 children. she has 5 older brothers and 1 younger brother.

and speaking of those brothers… all the older ones became warriors or shamans. the youngest, dahko, diverged from the family’s traditional path and became a sunwalker. imala was very supportive of this and was the one to finally convince their very stubborn mother that it was a good idea, and she should be proud. after all, imala had gone from shaman to druid and experienced the same resistance.

she was almost married when she was younger, after pressure from her parents, but a month before the ceremony she and her partner were like, “what the hell are we doing?” and decided not to go through with it. they remain great friends (she’s also close with his mate), and she’s the godmother of his two children.

she lost a cousin (from her father’s side) in the siege of orgrimmar. though she’ll never admit it, it messed her up pretty bad. she still hasn’t been able to really get over it.

imala has an affinity for restoration magic and shifting into a big cat. she has trouble staying shifted as a bear, and she has virtually no connection with the moonkin form.

her friendships are comprised mostly of tauren and night elves, and almost evenly between those two. other than that, she has friends of every race—except forsaken.

imala does not like the forsaken… though she does feel the slightest shred of sympathy toward them. she has been trying to create a cure/counter for undeath for years, time permitting. her “little dark secret” is that she once experimented on some forsaken (during the northrend campaign), though she was smart about it: they were former followers of sylvanas who decided to go back into the service of the lich king. if she ever got caught, she could use this fact to prove her innocence, and make the claim that she was only dispatching traitors.

one of her biggest life goals is to restore the dead scar.

argus is giving her a very hard time. the elemental spirits there are in the most severe pain she’s ever vicariously experienced; as someone with inherent shamanic abilities, she’s very sensitive to this. because the cries of the elemental spirits keep causing her to lose her focus, she’s opted to remain behind front lines to heal the injured, rather than participating in battle as she always has in wartime.

bonus, because this is one of my prime daughters:

on her mother’s side, she can trace her lineage to the highmountain tribe—yes, the one that fought in the war of the ancients. she even has some relatives on the broken isles that she still hasn’t met.

☀️ What makes your OC genuinely happy? A person, an item, their hobby? Where is the place they’re happiest, or most at home? What is the happiest they’ve ever been?

freiha finds a great deal of solace and tranquility in tending to her massive gardens—not just doing the bare minimum of daily work on them, but actually getting in there and working her magic to help them grow. her plants are almost like children to her since she and varistus don’t have any, and she regrets not being able to spend as much time with them as she’d like as of late due to things being very hectic.

aside from that, she finds joy in simply spending time with those close to her—whether it’s fishing with varistus, chatting with reithie, or visiting with her own relatives. time and presence are rare with everyone these days, so it means a lot to her when she can either give or receive those things.

☁️ What’s something your OC wishes they could forget? Why is this? Or, what is something that your OC has forgotten? (or do both!)

❤️ What would your OC’s ideal lover be like? Appearance, personality, voice? Would their family approve or would it be civil war?

above all, he (because she’s only ever been romantically into men, though she’s very asexual) needs to be patient and willing to give her the space and freedom she requires as she continues to do big things around the world. imala will never be a domestic sort so long as there are threats to azeroth (and for as long as she has any shred of capability), and her partner needs to be aware of that. he has to either expect that she will rarely be home, or be willing to accompany her on her travels. it isn’t because she’s disloyal or uninterested, of course—she’s just trying to ensure there’s still a world to live in, and to maintain balance in nature. her partner would be important to her, but her duty to the planet will always have priority.

also, her family would approve of just about anyone, as long as they’re a tauren. she has a very large family (mom, dad, six brothers, a few nieces and nephews) and they’re generally a pretty welcoming bunch.

their dreams i: for the world to stop falling into catastrophe every goddamn second she turns around; she would like to have a quiet remainder of her life. k: to have children of her own and live peacefully with her whole family.

their reaction to betrayal i: seething rage. k: an intense desire for revenge.

their reaction to a mystery love letter i: “oh. interesting.” k: “anyone who can’t tell me to my face is a coward and not worth my time.”

03. What would be their favorite physical trait about themselves?Her horns. She is quite proud of them because they’re wide and strong like her mother’s. It’s a hallmark of her heritage.

32. If your character’s lover offered to take them out on a dream date, what would they want to do?She has never thought about it, given that she’s always been too busy (saving the world, you know) to even hold down a relationship. Maybe something as simple as relaxing in a beautiful place she rarely gets to see, or perhaps one of the traditional tauren festivals, which she hardly has time/opportunity to enjoy anymore.
