Olympias a replica of an ancient Athenian trireme of 480 B.C.
Olympias is a replica of an ancient Athenian trireme of 480 BC, and an important example of experimental archaeology. It is also a commissioned ship in the Hellenic Navy of Greece, the only commissioned vessel of its kind in any of the world's navies.
Draken Harald Hårfagre - a clinker-built Viking longship. She is not a replica of a known ship, she is a reconstruction of what the Norse Sagas refer to as a “Great ship”. Knowledge of history, and especially the Norse sagas, archeological findings and Norwegian boatbuilding traditions combined created the world’s largest Viking ship sailing in modern times.
Min of the Desert is a replica of a cargo ship of Pharaoh Hatshepsut’s ( 1507-1458 BC) time, and was used for a voyage over the Red Sea to the legendary Land of Punt.
The Ship is 20m long an 5m wide, and partly based on a detailed relief depicting Hatshepsut's fleet in her funerary temple. It was built 2008 after ancient techniques for the BBC documentary: The Pharaoh Who Conquered the Sea.
