SO I've decided to post and write about my World of Warcraft AU, called Burning Awake, and I thought I'd write up a little summary of the concept. Premise and summary below!!

Burning Awake is a World of Warcraft alternate universe centered around the draenei and their prominent characters, including several canon characters and many original characters as well.

The premise of this AU is quite simple. It diverges from canon when Sargeras arrives to Argus, and instead of accepting his offer, Kil’jaeden and Archimonde decline, instead choosing to flee with Velen and the draenei. Most of what I write for this AU will take place during the flight from Argus, on the Genedar, and explores the development of the characters and the changes in their circumstances. There will be many themes of managing hardship, relationships, finding of purpose and above all, healing.

This AU will have a primarily balanced but hopeful tone, and I like to use themes of growth and healing more than most other authors I see. There will be a good amount of angst and things like that of course, since that comes with the subject matter, but these aspects will nearly always be handled in ways that represent healthy coping and emotional development for the characters involved. Anything that gets heavy will be appropriately labeled and have relatively fulfilling conclusions unless stated otherwise. Self indulgent? Maybe. Will I ever stop? No i love it

Many of the character arcs will also be rather complex, especially Archimonde. I’ve taken a lot of time and effort to analyze these characters as deeply and as accurately as possible with every source I can get my hands on, and with a timeline of 13,000 years, there’s a lot of room for change. I’ll probably write up my analyses and summarize the character arcs to post on here at some point, but in the meantime, if you’re at all curious, feel free to message me and ask! He can’t complain about the power level or plot significance of this one (but he can get jealous because Archimonde is way more famous than he is.)

Another theory floating around about the first lie is that the Legion's been defeated for good. Two of its leaders are still in limbo though one would be harder to bring back than the other. It took a lot of power from the Pantheon to imprison Sargarus. However Archimonde has been freely floating around in the twisting nether since Warcraft 3. I doubt he's been sitting still. He has definitely heard about the Legion's failed third invasion and likely planning another.

i don’t think so, although that would be really interesting! i think there’s been a few hints about sargeras possibly making a return

kil’jaeden was killed in the twisting nether during legion, making it his final death. wherever he is, it’s definitely not back alive. especially because his whole body was just poofed.

i’m not totally sure about the logistics of demon deaths and reincarnations, so correct me if i’m wrong here, but while archimonde did die on draenor during wod, the killing blow was dealt in the twisting nether. i think him coming back is a reasonable possibility but definitely not for a while after legion.

at the very least, blizz owes us a conclusion to sargeras’ arc, whether that be killing him or teaming up with him to take down the void lords.
