I’m deeply disturbed by what Trump is doing to the White House. The public gets no say in this, our nation’s capital building? A PUBLIC BUILDING?? And historians, arguably more so, no say?? I’m gonna throw up. Appalling. And the fact that donors and workers are willing to go along with it? Disgusting. Disgraceful. I can’t find words strong enough.

I need to pivot to smaller scale residential architecture. I can’t keep doing this commercial shit. There’s no love in it. Everything is cold and hard and profit driven.

One of the architects at my firm helped me develop a custom wall detail for this project I’m working on rn and I’m looking at it and it’s so beautiful to me, I want to cry. I need to do work that asks me to draw how the bricks go on the building. I need to do small-scale custom projects.

I crave design-build. I want to build your house. I want to figure out how to use the wood you scavenged from the barn that was on your property before you bought it. I want to incorporate your vision for a garden area in the backyard.

There are too many fucking parking lots in my projects rn.

Or maybe I should just become an accessibility consultant. I’m sure there’s some money in that.

People at my job have no build site experience. One of my managers today tried to tell me that a roof didn’t need crickets because it was small enough that the water would “just pool and run over because physics”. No. The water will pool and stop at the lowest point because physics. You need a cricket. Thankfully she was convinced to add a cricket. But for the love of-
