Kratos thinks that the duties relayed to him were rather… embellished with no small amount of grandeur. Indeed, he thought that the Chief of the Bureau of the Architect would be skilled enough to handle such a minor issue on his own, and he should have trusted his gut instinct. As it is now, a terse sigh spills from his lips as he observes the otherwise bemused man afore him.

“It seems Azem has… tampered with my orders once more,” Kratos says; there is no small amount of displeasure on his face, but he keeps his disposition calm and professional. “Forgive the intrusion. I was under the impression that sharks had run amok in your office. It seems I have been misled.”

The challenge in being a land so foreign is the loneliness that comes with it. While ever the wanderer at heart, he wasn’t beyond missing his companions, missing the home he had come to know. Adding to the fact that his recent days have been plagued with anxiety. The gnawing fear of not knowing what lies ahead, in not knowing if there’s salvation to give to his people, to give the people who are still here now.

Slowly, he’d come to accept the offered fruits. Each piece familiar, yet strange all the same. In every bite, he remembered home, but the newness in the taste reminded him still of where he was. It did not help in clearing his worries. However, he was more than grateful to be attended to in his time of dire need. Though bitter, he encouraged himself to smile.

“You didn’t have to,” he turned. “...but yes, I shall have more.”

🍋 : what kind of diet does my muse have? do they eat regularly, or the standard 2-3 meals a day? do they have to be reminded to eat, or are they likely to remind others? do they cook, or have others cook for them? do they eat healthily, or not so much?

haurchefant is very much used to living on a soldier's ration and is tbqh not all that food oriented to begin with. that is, he doesn't hate eating, or shirk the responsibility of taking care of himself and trying to keep up with at least 2-3 meals a day, but if it proves necessary for him to forego a meal in order for his men to have more, or if it proves impossible in whatever situation to have a proper meal, either because there's no rations or no means to prepare it, it will not affect him a lot. he also prefers meals that are easy and quick to make but are filling as well: broth, stews, puddings, but will essentially eat everything that is on hand because he knows he can't really afford to be picky about it. he knows how to cook, but he has staff dedicated to preparing the meals for him and his men at the camp and before that he was used to having the servants do it / his mother do it. he will, however, remind others to eat more than they need to be reminded.

at that last question, he does try to keep his diet balanced, but it's no secret that he has a mean sweet tooth and he very much likes to indulge not just in hot chocolate, but tarts and confectionery of all kinds.

in line with the above, where i mention haurchefant can cook: though he's by no means a star chef cook, he does have the talent to turn the widest and strangest variety of ingredients into a tasty stew and is very knowledgeable in which meats, roots and/or plants are edible and which are not
