You’ve heard of the Toynbee Convector... now i give you The Yolo Reflector.
For context, I’ve been going through boxes of old books, magazines, and papers belonging to my family. I recently turned up an entire folder full of old engineering photographs and x-rays from my father’s engineering work, which I’m going to scan over the next few weeks in the interest of sharing some really neat images. I also ran across this manual for a telescope (my father was hard into astronomy and had several quite large telescopes) and thought it was the funniest thing I’ve seen in a week. I doubt the creator of this undoubtedly useful piece of technology ever thought his name would eventually mean what it does today.
