hey, what if we tried to archive some lost homestuck fandom media?
you may have heard of the podcast homestuck made this world in which they try to recreate the homestuck fan experience as it happened. unfortunately, they were unable to cover tumblr in this, for a multitude of good reasons.
although a wonderful device has been made for accessing the homestuck tag in chronological order, there's still a lot missing. any posts that were deleted, or from blogs that have since been deactivated, are wiped from the tag- not to mention there are likely plenty of posts that were never tagged to begin with.
but, luckily preservations of all of these posts actually still exist somewhere-- in reblogs!
a homestuck sideblog that wasn't at all popular, that just had their account to reblog all the posts they saw that they liked, could actually be a perfectly preserved specimen of thousands of these old posts and experiences that have since become lost media. the theorists, the discourse bloggers, the ones who just screeched about their favorite character or pairing-- they may not realize it, but their old sideblogs could be invaluable for archiving!
