He sighs, taking a deep breath. “Sorry. I mean, I’ve... I’ve been in a relationship before. But it didn’t quite start like this and... let’s not get into it. It’s never gonna be the same thing twice. I, um...”

He rubs the back of his neck. “...I actually don’t know... um... what to say?”

I… don’t have much of a sweet tooth. We didn’t get much in the line of desserts at the Inn except on occasion– mostly because most of our guests don’t have the stomach for them. So I don’t think I have one in particular.

…fascinating.You never know what to expect from Perry, honestly. She’s always got an interesting idea or way of going about things, and I do find it to be genuinely fascinating. Out of everyone I’ve met so far, I think she’d be one of the most interesting people to sail with back home and I’d be honored to have her on a crew.

James was looking for Eva. That was nothing new, but... he wasn’t angry and needing to vent. Not now. For once, he was almost... sad. It wasn’t anything in particular-- he’d been wrapped up in his own head and made himself miserable, and he knew the fastest way to fix that was to find her.

He’d told her once that the rock he’d fashioned into a necklace charm for her was her proof that there was still beauty in the world, yet still didn’t have the nerve to tell her that she was his reminder of the same.
