Tim hated his new office. Everything from how small it was to the painted eyes staring at him from all of the walls. As well as the fact it was separate from everyone. He hated that the computer never worked here, and the stupid tape recorder he had to use instead. Not to mention the unorganised mess that he’d inherited from Gertrude. He hated that this was supposed to be Sasha’s job and now she wasn’t talking to him. He held his head in his hands, his arms propped up on the desk. He rubbed his temples as he felt a tension headache looming. He’d told her he’d not applied for it, that he never wanted it, but he could tell she didn’t believe him. His thoughts were interrupted by a knock, and someone entering his office without invitation. He was thin and looked extremely uncomfortable, he had tight black curls and a grey cotton jumper with a “he/him” pronouns badge on his The Magnus Institute lanyard. Tim should have said something, which made it all the more awkward when the man piped up.

“Hello, I’m- my name’s Jonathan Sims. Or John,” John stammered. Tim stared for a moment clueless until he realised, he got to his feet and approached him, with his hand held out. John took it and visibly unsettled about the situation.

“Oh! Hi. You’re the new guy, right?” Tim said awkwardly. “Sorry, I’m still getting settled in. Bit out of sorts.” He’d heard the new hire was quite standoffish and quiet, so having him willingly coming to the office to chat was unexpected. He didn’t look pleased to be there, in fact he looked confused himself.

“I- Yes. I’m the new researcher here.” He wasn’t looking at Tim, but instead everywhere else in the room. “I thought I should introduce myself to the Head Archivist-”

“Temporary Head Archivist,” Tim corrected quickly. He had said that so much the last few days it was more of a reflex than anything else. No matter how hollow they were becoming. “I told Elias I’ll take it until he chooses someone else.”

“Oh, right,” John nodded. Tim thought he seemed liked he never spoken to another person before.

“So, have you met everyone yet?” He asked, forcing a smile and wondering why John wouldn’t just leave.

“Erm. Elias and Martin. They mentioned Sasha but she’s not in yet.”

“Wait, she isn’t?”

“No. Is that strange?”

“You could say that.”

“Something wrong?”

“Oh, no. It’s- she’s-” Tim hated that his worry was probably showing all over his face. Everyone thought Sasha would take the job, when he was offered instead he’d done everything to try and change that. Yet here he was. “It’s probably just… Something has come up.”

“Mm, right.”

“Can I ask you something?”

“I suppose so.” It was written all over John’s face that he wanted to say no.

“Why are you working here?” Tim began, being more inquisitive than he usually would be to a new colleague. “No offence or anything, it’s just this isn’t a place flooded with applicants.”

“I don’t know. I needed a job, I suppose,” John paused, Tim saw his emotions all over his face, his brow furrowed as he deliberated whether to stay more. Eventually he reluctantly added more. It almost looked as if Tim was tugging it from him somehow. “I want to know more about Jurgen Leitner.”

“Ah. Yeah. Those bastards sure do show up a lot,” Tim nodded as he rubbed his eyes.

“What about you?”

“Oh. Well. I’m interested in this stuff I suppose, I’m a researcher and I’m good at it. Too good at it, because now I’m no longer doing research.” Tim furrowed his brow and looked above John at the large green eye above the door. The same one graffitied on the floor of the abandoned factory where Danny disappeared. He felt a little awkward for a moment, John had given him something to work with after all. “Something weird happened to me. I want to see if anyone else had experienced anything like it too.”

“Mm. That makes sense,” John replied, although Tim saw him begin to fidget and stare at the wall as if he wasn’t paying attention.

“Are you okay?”

“There’s spiders everywhere in here, I don’t care for it.”

“Huh. Never seen a spider in here before,” Tim said staring at the small black arachnid that ran around in circles on the wall opposite his desk.

“Ah, well. I better get back to work.,” John finally ended with a nod and a forced smile. Tim watched as he left, he could have sworn the spider followed him out the door.

the thing with tma is you could shuffle and place pretty much any mc as an archivist and as a not!person au and make it WORK

jarchivist & not!georgie. jarchivist & not!tim. sarchivist & not!martin. tarchivist & not!jon. marchivist & not!sasha. hell, who’s to say melarchivist couldn’t work? or garchivist, or barchivist, or even darchivist? just slightly alter their backstories so that they’ll find themselves in a position where elias both offers them the archivist job and they accept it. just THINK of all the possibilities!!!! no matter who the archivist is, imagining that someone STILL gets not’ed no matter what, is absolutely HAUNTING and i LOVE it.

not!georgie au where she visits the institute and ends up in artefact storage, BOOM not’ed ; naturally, jon isn’t even the one who notices. maybe martin or tim?

the classic sarchivist & not!jon au BUT martin is still the ‘anti-christ plus-one’ and gets to watch the smiting of the not!them, sasha james style

sarchivist, not!martin, & archival assistant jon where JON is the only one who thinks something’s kinda off with martin

melarchivist au where she encounters something genuinely Fucked Up at ghost hunt uk pre-jarchivist and literally no one believes her et cerera et cetera so drama happens, ghost hunt uk is abolished, and when melanie heads to the institute elias offers her the position

tarchivist au where he’s still the one who sets off the explosion during the unknowing, but HE’S the only one who survives and all of his friends die in the explosion (yk cause in this case he’s an avatar)

tbh, i think every single one of these characters, no matter who’s the archivist and who’s the not!person, they’d still end up starting the eyepocalypse one way or another, even if their way isn’t as impulsive as jon’s. i just feel like they would!!! i mean, we all know every single character had made incredibly stupid decisions in tma, so…

Au where Elias accidentally emails tim the archivist position offer and the eye thinks this is hillarious and he is therefore unable to rectify his mistake and Tim accepts and becomes the archivist.

Unlike the few intentionally picked archivist tim aus I’ve seen I like to think in this one Elias had planned to like. Dispose of tim/ hadn’t considered him much and therefore is woefully unprepared for archivist! Tim shenanigans.

This of course would OBVIOUSLY also be an everything turns out fine au! Bc Duh !!

Okay so we all agree that Sasha as the archivist would be far too competent but consider....Archivist Tim

It would include:

Tim going full from “Head Archivist” to “Archivist” VERY quickly because unlike Jon, he LOVES talking to people and even before everything people would spill their secrets to him cause he’s very charismatic

So Tim doesn’t even notice that people can’t lie to him anymore

He also doesn’t notice any of the nightmare stuff cause he already has tons of nightmares about the circus. Figures he’s now having nightmares about statements

In fact, Tim doesn’t notice anything is off until he begins to know things about people and basically begin reading their mind

By this point Elias is screaming because he has a powered up Archivist with no goddamn clue about anything

Also, Tim constantly evades any attacks from other entities.

Like the worm attack worked but once Elias tries to get Tim to visit Mike Crew or Jude Perry he ends up becoming friends with them instead

Now Tim has an avatar gang

Jon, Martin and Sasha are all archival assistants who Tim sends on globetrotting adventures as an excuse to abuse the Institute’s budget

Tim 1000% “dies” in the worm attack cause he’s alone in the archives that day (Sasha is at lunch and Jon And Martin are in India) and that is when he becomes fully realized

Immediately pegs Elias as Gertrude’s murderer after and tries to compel him

Doesn’t work so Tim punches him in the face instead

Tim needing time stop the unknowing so calling up Daisy who he knows would love to blow shit up and heading down to the Wax Museum

He’s fully realized so this man just strolls in to the middle of the Unknowing and says, “This bitch Stranger, YEET” And blows it up before leaping backwards into Helen’s door with Daisy

Also, since Tim wouldn’t care so much about Helen’s “lost humanity” they become very fast friends after she becomes the Distortion

Elias is sobbing because Tim is basically Gertrude 2.0 but without the whole greater purpose bit

Tim is here to cause chaos and now he has all-seeing eye powers.

Alright some of you wanted this here’s my Archivist Tim timeline

Season 1

-So! Our favorite Tim Stoker has been promoted to Head Archivist! Why? He doesn’t know!

-It’s because Elias knows his whole Danny-experience had him marked by the Stranger

-And he’s getting into Eye territory with his hunting down the info for what happened

-He’s a little peeved because he thinks Sasha should’ve had the job but Sasha’s like dude I’m a bit peeved here too but I think you’ll do great and plus u can have more access to the statements and shit for your little revenge quest <3

-So! He takes the job offer

-He’s less withdrawn from the others than Jon was, more friendly with the whole crew

-He has reason to believe some statements are true but he doesn’t know which so he just kinda records them and jokes around a bit

-Doesn’t joke with live statement givers though bcus he understands what it’s like and also isn’t emotionally constipated 

-Eventually he does figure out the tape recorder pattern but he doesn’t ever bring it up because he’s getting the feeling of being watched. Freaks him out!

-Jon gets epically stickbugged this time around. Martin feels no real need to do extra investigation because Tim isn’t an asshole to him, knows he lied on his CV, and is trying 2 make him feel safe in this environment we love to see it 

-Jon however! Wants to find shit out so he’s like ok time to do some b&e and gets prentissed 

-He gives his statement, Tim offers to let him stay at his place and Jon is like nah I sleep at the Archives most nights anyway I’ll just stay here and Tim says sir that’s not healthy- 

-But whatever Jon in the Archives what will he do 

-Sasha is still the one with the Michael Experience and that goes as usual

-And whatever. Things progress as usual. Tim trips and fucking accidentally punches a hole in the wall and bam! Worm hours!

-Jon is coming in from whatever he was doing, Martin runs out to warn him of the worm lady, Jon in the office, Martin run to snag Elias

-Things essentially progress as usual, except! Martin in Artefact Storage what will he do

-He’ll get Not-Them’d! That’s what he will do. RIP Martin we’ll never 4get u king

-Tim is very uhh shaken up by these events! Does not enjoy the fact that the people he love keep getting put in danger by these things (and he’s lost 2 people to these but shh he doesn’t know that yet ;)  ) 

-Season finale! He’s a bit depressed! Rough times for Tim!

-Crew Roundup: We have Tim, Jon, Sasha, and Not-Martin in the Archives now

Season 2 Electric Boogaloo

-Tim in the tunnels what crimes will he commit!

-But yeah he’s in there because he’s like oh fuck shit in the tunnels? Shit in the tunnels? Let’s find it before it hurts my friends again!! Heehoo!

-Hero complex hours 

-Sucks to suck also uhh he’s definitely a little freaked out that his predecessor was Murdered 

-There’s that sweet sweet Not-Them paranoia but since he does really trust his friends naturally and doesn’t suspect them of murder! It doesn’t affect him a whole lot and he’s good at hiding it 

-Mr. Not-Martin does freak him out a little tho,,,feelin a little unsettled around his ol pal Martin,,,so he isn’t rlly friends with Martin anymore,,,hm

-Jon is fucking freaked the hell out of this whole attack and literally dives headfirst into his work and is kinda effected by Not-Them paranoia

-Also uh oh! Martin is having computer issues what a shame that Jon has to take on a lot of the workload now smh

-No one told him to do this and Sasha would b happy to share with him he is just like this

-Sasha, the only one with a normal mental state and good coping mechanisms: What the fuck guys

-Tim is getting way more into the statements, as he has higher stakes now! He needs to protect his friends like he couldn’t protect Danny! Hero complex hours! 

-He’s trying to keep up his Fun Happy Tim Stoker image but isn’t really working. He starts to argue with Jon a lot, he doesn’t talk with Not-Martin, Sasha just doesn’t Get It (sir she’s mentally healthy-)

-So he’s sort of depressed a lot! Doesn’t talk with the crew as often, isn’t as sympathetic to live statement givers, all that, he’s sad and trying to do everything he can to protect his friends

-Eventually, the “intervention” does happen but it’s more like We’re Your Friends And We’re Worried We Are Here For U :) <3

-He just gets mad at that because No U Don’t Get It!!!!

-Grr

-Uhh Melanie comes back, is like hey shithead I want to be in the library and Tim is like maam please do literally whatever u want I don’t care 

-Melanie does not like Tim much because now he seems like a rude little man 

-Helen! Helen I care u,,,Tim tries to make her feel better but he’s like sigh,,

-Michael fucks with him and Tim is like ;-; what the fukc do u wjnat im just trynfj o harhd and Michael is like wow! What the fuck! Stop crytyping in real life u big baby! 

-Most everything progresses as normal except for Tim just constantly being like the upside down smiley emoji 

-You know when someone asks how you are and you just have to say that you’re fine even though you’re not fine but you just have to say you are because they’d never understand-

-Anyway! Melanie comes back, does her thing before she goes to India, is like hey shithead why’s there two guys named Martin in the Archives

-Tim says what no there isnt?? And Melanie yells at him a bit like usual before leaving

-He finds out about the Not-Them! Reviews some tapes where Martin had been talking! That feeling when now another person you love has died on your watch while you were helpless to do anything about it except this time you didn’t even notice!

-Mans goes fucking ham into learning about the Not-Them, hears about the table, jumps to conclusions and decides 2 fucking murk the table 

-He’s not thinking straight! Absolute lad

-So he frees the Not-Them, Michael shows up to bully him, he is in the tunnels oh no

-Sasha drags Jon to go save him and they end up in the hallways 

-We find Jurgen Leitner, he gets BPM’d after a sec, Tim is framed for murder, all is well

-Crew Roundup: Tim, Jon, and Sasha are here. Not-Martin has been fired for identity theft crimes

Season 3: Everyone’s Mental Health Is Terrible

-So anyway Tim is staying with Georgie now. Why? I don’t know. Maybe she’s an ex like she was with Jon, maybe she’s like a mutual friend with Jon, idk, I just need Ms Barker…

-Instead of the Mr Spider statement, we get our Danny statement. Tim explains a lot there and then ur like oh shit what this explains his mad hero complex because genius writing but u know this all already so 

-Daisy starts looking into the Leitner murder <3 wife

-Uhh most of this stuff is as usual. Sasha and Jon are taking on the work of recording statements except Jon says no I will do most of this

-Melanie gets her job, she does her thing, idk none of this is Archivist dependant dsjhsjhds

-Tim is looking HELLA MUCH at the statements and info and stuff because guess what! Man is literally needing to protect his friends so much he will do this

-Gets burnt by Jude Perry, gets yeeted by Mike Crew, all the usual

-Mike Crew dies smh RIP king we’ll never 4get u

-So yeah Tim nearly gets murked by Daisy, Basira comes in like hey dont murder him we can use him to get info out of Elias and Tim is like 8O 

-So the crew is in Elias’s office now! He’s done his bones shit, we got Tim, Jon, Sasha, Daisy, Basira, every1 is here

-Elias is like yeah I killed Gertrude Robinson AND Jurgen Leitner AND Martin is fucking dead what do u want lmao!!!!!

-And then Daisy and Basira r on board

-So Tim is freaking out in several ways but the biggest way is that the Unknowing is happening! Those fuckers murked his brother!!

-Anyway he does his thing, Nikola visits him, he nearly throws hands and shes like Nope Get Me Gorilla Skin Thot

-So he tries but then like 2 episodes later he gets kidnapped lmao

-He has a shit time! He is so ready to literally beat the asses of all these clowns but he is unfortunately tied up 

-Michael gives a statement, turns into Helen, and Tim escapes. Helen literally has to be like sir don’t,,don’t beat up the waxworks SIR

-So now Tim is on his little Find Everything Out About The Unknowing trip around the world

-He’s just absolutely frantic abt this, he’s putting all his extra manic energy into this because it’s like Top Priority For Several Reasons

-Also! Jon gives his Mr Spider statement to Sasha now because she’s like ok so u dont believe in the supernatural how?? And he tells her the thing and admits that he’s literally scared shitless of all of this supernatural stuff so it’s easier to deny and ignore it and Sasha’s like damn son pls get some therapy!

-Also I forgot to mention it but Tim is getting Beholding powers and is kinda like sick ok 

-So he’s doing Shit w/o statements lmao but he assumes he got a flu or something and is like ok I’ll take an Advil and call it a day *peace sign emoji*

-Then he gets kidnapped again! America edition

-Julia Montauk and Trevor Herbert I care u

-They’re like ooo an Archivist fr and Tim’s like 8O again

-Not a fan of getting kidnapped plus it puts him off schedule and mans is stressed

-He has his chat with Gerry Keay, gets the fear info, and agrees to burn his page off the bat. The dynamic would b too powerful,,

-ALright anyway nothing else happens it’s Unknowing time!!

-We got Jon and Melanie back at the Institute doing their arson and b&e and we got Tim, Sasha, Daisy, and Basira in the car going to do major arson

-So yeah, Jon lights shit on fire, gets his child neglect trauma mind-emailed to him, Melanie gets her evidence, they do their thing, life goes on yeah?

-So! Unknowing! Tim is having a bad time mentally he’s a little manic. High on revenge or whatever

-So anyway Basira leaves, Daisy in the Buried what will she do, and! Guess what baby!

-Sasha with the detonator 

-Now she is a little uh conflicted here but basically she says ok saving the world takes priority over literally everything else lmao (also she’s been kind of distanced from the others so she just feels like she doesn’t have much to go back to) and she died!! RIP Sasha we will not 4get u queen 

-Tim in a coma now what will he do? He sleep

-Crew Roundup: Tim, Jon, Melanie, Daisy, and Basira are down in the Archives 

Season 4 Yearning Rights

-So ok catch up time while Tim is sleep 

-Shit has happened! The ladies are very stressed and all

-Jon has gone 2 work with Peter Lukas and all because I think at this point he could be snagged by the Lonely I think he has that potential so he’s doing that atm

-So you know things happen, Oliver gives his choices speech, Tim is up and back to work where people lowkey just Don’t Like Him

-Basically everything sort of happens

-He learns about the bullet in Melanie and Daisy in the Buried and is like on god people I can help?????? I can help people now like deadass???? Promise???? Don’t say sike!

-So he does that, he and Basira snag the bullet out of Melanie and he gets all stabbed and such

-Basira is doing her thing with Elias and u know eventually gets sent to stop a bullshit ritual 

-Tim learns more about the Buried because he’s like ok one person helped we can get murder cop out on god

-I feel like he likes Helen! He’s a little wary of her of course but he doesn’t hate her or anything she’s fun

-So he goes to her to talk to Mr Hopworth, homophobe king, and gets a couple ribs removed

-Tim: If any of you make jokes about how I can suck my own dick now I’ll kill you *passes out*

-Melanie, who was just abt to do that: *eyeballs emoji*

-Anyway uh he goes into the Buried because mans has like 0 impulse control and, as we all know, hero complex brain goes BRRRRRRRRR

-Dumb ass gets himself stuck tho because his bones aren’t an anchor 

-Jon figures out he went into the Buried like sigh you stupid man and sets up all the tapes so then Tim gets out

-Also also Tim and Jon r definitely having all of those very-much-yearning conversations JonTim rights

-So yay! Tim and Daisy are back! We stan

-Tim does his weird compel-a-statement-out-of-a-poor-lady thing, he and Basira go to fuck up a Dark ritual, all the usual

-I feel like just the dynamics would change vaguely not exactly the things that happen

-Tim Looks the Dark Sun to death and then he and Basira take the Helen train home

-Simon comes in to explain a couple things to Jon. He’s basically been doing the Extinction thing and going a little nuts over it and also going very depressed

-So you know they chat and it helps literally nothing as per usual and Jon is like right fuck that ig

-Tim gets confronted by Trevor and Julia about Gerry’s page, Tim is like homie I burned that in ur fucking house lmao and they’re like D:< so Daisy has to save him

-Tim/Daisy friendship hours

-Tim eventually finds out that the way to quit is blinding yourself and he’s like >:O ok time to tell everyone rn rn 

-He tells Daisy and Basira who are like uh no thanks ew ouch 

-Then he has the whole “we can blind ourselves and run away together </3” conversation with Jon

-Jon is basically like “look dude I know you won’t because you have a whole thing about needing to protect everybody and you know I won’t because I’m kind of invested in this thing rn so idk why ur here rn bro” 

-Melanie says ok sick and blinds herself. Goes to live with her gf Georgie. Lesbian rights

-GUESS WHAT PANOPTICON TIME BABY

-Peter Lukas takes Jon down to stab Jonah Magnus who is (plot twist) Elias Bouchard whoaaaaah 

-And then Jon goes no thank u I fooled ya!

-Basically his thing was that he really didn’t have anybody left after the Unknowing so he joined up with Peter figuring that even if it would get him killed (likely outcome) he’d get killed doing something useful. And then the whole Extinction thing came around and he was genuinely concerned and wanted to stop it! But he didn’t think he would ever be able to on his own (which is where Peter lost him) so he just kinda stuck around to find out more, keep Peter from disappearing his friends, and finding out the long term game

-Then he gets yeeted into the Lonely

-Uh yeah also the whole NotMartin, Julia, and Trevor storming the institute is happening

-Daisy goes full Hunt (sexy) and Tim goes to find Jon

-He follows him into the Lonely and lowkey accidentally takes Peter’s statement bcus he legit doesnt care abt this crusty old man!!! Where is his boy!!!!

-Anyway he also explodes Peter too lmao

-He finds Jon,,they do their thing,,,,they leave the Lonely,,,romantic

-And then they go to the Scottish safehouse and live out the gay cottagecore fantasy for hello Tim apologies for the deception but-

-It’s apocalypse time baybee!!!!

-Crew Roundup: Tim, Jon, Daisy, and Basira are all technically still Archive employees but the world is ended so 

Season 5 i forgot if i was writing the numbers out

-Idk basically the same stuff happens

-Except I think Jon is more willing to know abt the shit that’s happening

-Also Tim is trying to put on his Happy Fun Tim Stoker image again except it’s even worse this time around and lowkey just not appropriate sometimes but this is how he copes!

-This guy is like “i really cant help anyone i care abt i mean look at this look at this i ended the world and everyone is suffering because of me and i cant do anything about it no matter how much i want to and its literally eating me up inside” and jon is like damn,,,is there apocalypse therapy
