I have always loved Vintage Flea Markets since i was a child. My mother loved to bring me with her to the famous flea market that used to be in the parking of the Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá when i was about 6 years old. Since that period of my life, i became a fan of vintage and old objects. I can spent hours and hours observing all the jungle of different things and imagining the story behind each one. I usually go alone, because nobody has the patience to stay with me for hours "en train de dénicher" (trying to find) the rare pearl.
Anyway, walking trough the streets of London, i discovered a little but magical place on the north, on Archway Road, and managed by an adorable Monsieur, Mister Noel Lynch which i discovered writing this article that he has a very interesting political background.
This tiny but surprising shop, The Green Room, considered as "London's most unusual charity shop" is full of an incredible collection of various objects, from an admirably selection of books, to the most astonishing necklace or beautiful antique ring. I had to be very carefully because in every single square cm there's an object and i was too afraid to break something just moving on the little free space remaining. As an Interior Architect, i was really surprised about the incredible layout of the shop; maybe Mr. Lynch was really good at Tetris in the 80's ;)
For finishing, i was really happy to found an exactly colourful Venetian crystal ashtray from the 60's that my grand mother had at her house and i loved it when i was a little girl.
You can find marvellous treasures and books here.
PS: The shop works principally by donations
