what's arcsoc and why are tickets to their events so in demand?

It’s the architecture society and their events are to raise money for their year-end exhibition. I’ve never been to an event, but as far as I know, tickets are in demand because it’s a really good night out and is very edgy (which the normal Cambridge clubbing experience isn’t!)

i'm a fresher in october and i'm kind of interested in the arcsoc party on the 9th but i was wondering if it's weird to just go on your own, when you potentially don't know anyone there?

Um, I think you would feel a bit awkward unless you’re super sociable, but I also don’t think you have to go on your own! Fresher’s week is a really good time to simply mention to people you meet that you’ve seen an event you’d like to go to, and ask if they want to join you. In fact I’d say that’s a pretty good way to start getting to know people.
