I think Leafy does deserve this. 1) Just because he puts a 2 secs disclaimer in his videos it doesn't mean he tries his best to prevent bullying. 2) Leafy's videos aren't satire just because he calls them this way. Satire is a way of criticizing things in a funny way. What he does is bullying. 3)Let's say he goes over a live 150 times and apologize 15. Does it makes everything ok? I don't think so.
First of all I wanna say thank you for discussing this with me without being an ass, I really appreciate that.
And I agree with you on this man, I do. I enjoy Leafy’s videos, some people don’t, but I am upset about the fact that idubbbz fans are doing this to him when they didn’t even know about him that much before the video. I stick to the ‘don’t watch if you don’t like’ phrase a lot.
The thing with him crossing a line though is all based on personal opinions. If he says ‘this youtuber is bad’, some people will say that’s over the line while other will agree because that’s what personal opinions are. If he pulls a horrible joke, then believe me, 80% of the Leafy fandom calls him out on that shit. He may not apologize for every thing he does, which to some people is problematic, while some people don’t find any harm in said joke. I’m not saying that him apologizing for some things makes it okay, but once again it all comes down to personal opinions sometimes too.
If I make a bad joke, because they do slip out a lot, I will apologize if someone calls me out on it, but sometimes I won’t. Why? Because sometimes people actually get way too sensitive about something. Sometimes people will be raging about a joke when it has nothing to do with them, nor does it bring harm to anyone. It’s just a joke, and humor does not equal personality. Leafy has a seriously dark humor, and some people like it while some people don’t, and I honestly respect everyone’s opinions when it comes to Leafy, just how I respect everyone’s opinions when it comes to Onision. Personally, I despise Onision a lot, but that’s not going to make me throw in horrible comments on his videos, nor do I attack people who like him.
This is basically an agree to disagree situation, and even though it may sound like I am 100% defending Leafy, I agree with a lot of the things you say. I do.
Once again thank you for not being an ass about this. <3 There’s too many people out there who literally wishes death upon someone with different opinions, so this makes me really happy.
