In your previous missive, you referenced “The Starfields,” which is a region I don’t believe I’ve heard of before. Can you tell us what we can know about such a place?

The Starfields is the more pleasant name given to the space between the planes. Also referred to as Inaloc (meaning “Where Nothing Waits” in ancient Celestial), the Starfields are vast stretches of stars and floating debris. It is said to linger in the background of the night sky of Ardowin, with many claiming the dimmest stars are actually peeking through the Veil into Inaloc.

The only people who have glimpsed into Inaloc have gone mad shortly thereafter, often either destroying themselves and their work relating to it or vanishing from society entirely, possibly having found a way to transport themselves there, though no documentation of successful transport of any kind of matter from the Starfields has been confirmed.

What is known is that interplanar travel somehow interacts with the Starfields, using the place as a sort of tunnel between worlds. In fact, the first recorded confirmation of a mortal witnessing Inaloc was in the midst of a terrible teleportation mishap. Thus, those with the ability to safely interact with that space, such as the Icons, can monitor it for signs of massive interplanar movement, signalling the arrival of a large number of entities (or perhaps one very powerful one).

Inaloc is perhaps the most alien place in the multiverse. It is incapable of supporting life on its own, but inseparable from each place where life exists. Despite its significance to the greater structure of the cosmos, its inaccessibility and incomprehensibility make it a poor subject for further study.

Howdy brother! Now, I know we cuculi folk got different kinds of relationships with the Unicorn, and you work in the more faithful and devout style. You got any specific prayers that keep ya goin in the cursed lands?

Hey there, now it may not say, but I think I know my good pal Chiti's twang even just written out. I sure do love that Unicorn, I tend to whisper my prayers, I guess with us being storytelling folks, it feels special to also take a moment just to myself to be reverent and worship her magical light. As we go into the cursed lands, I like to light a little candle, and speak a prayer to the Unicorn, telling her how hearing her stories bolster me in these shadowy lands, how I miss my Cuculi family, how I hope they are doing ok. I tend to say a simple prayer at the end of the day.

Hail, Unicorn, full of majesty, the light is in thee. Blessed art thou in Ardowin and blessed is the strength of thy soul. Holy Unicorn, Mother of Stories, pray for us Cuculi, now and at the hour of our death.

how many drinks would it take you to sleep with each party member (individually)

Yvette - 4 stiff cocktails; she's mean, tough, and now seemingly insane.

Korrin - a twelve pack of imported beer; not even sure how this would work, but it has potential, honestly they remind Penny of people from her past as a diplomat-in-training. What is Korrin if not a Champion/Avatar/Ambassador of this Catatrophe Dragon?

Horace - a case of fine Elven wine; I favor friendship based on academic interest into Horace's experience with occult, less than researched magic and his soft-spoken disposition rather than seeing him like that.

Chiti - 2 vodka crans; that outrider is both interested in theater and handsome with that damn hat and natural charisma. Seems he has a charm that grounds the people 'round him. Reads of a casual fling.

Lorelei - two shots of dwarven whiskey for liquid courage just to ask; I've fumbled it a few times and she seems to be not looking in my direction at the time but she seems like someone I could have something serious with. Given the casual intimacy that she seems to be in the headspace for that I'm comfortable with doing, but less experienced in that type of relationship myself; I'm nervous about opening that part of myself. But hey, it's a leap of faith with these types of things.

Lottie - Six shots of Kobold-branded tequila; Lottie was kind and deeply committed to their cause of saving the Cuculi. Any intimacy there feels like a distraction from her cause and her clear bond with Horace.

Apichu - 2 shots of whiskey and 2 cocktails; large, strong, handsome, suave, and protective over Chiti. Willing to entertain fling with him. Cute and hope to hang out more now that we're heading to the Cursed Lands.
