Next Gen better ending AU I made purely for are23 to have their happy ending. Toxic yaoi? Unhealthy, lame, killed my grandma. Tragic yaoi? Lets gooooo.
Ares' kill all humans motivation is pretty basic,so I want to imagine more context to it. I like to think that robots in Next Gen can posses soul and identity and they are fully separate. Q-bots posses the "polite corporate identity" installed in them, they act like current ai bots with user glazing policy. In-universe soul is not programmed in, but is sort of a part of the soul of creator, aka every piece of art/creation does. Q-bots probably don't have souls as they're mass-produced by machinery, but first prototypes did. Alfredo absolutely does. Ares and 7723 10000%
Ares is the most interesting to me. The tragedy of a machine created purely for war and used to kill no matter under which flag. Ares probably saw cruelty in every spectrum of it. Like, how much do you gotta suck as a species, that your own tank would turn on you. Even he knows war is pointless. Sort of how AM is, but with a soft spot for nature. I like to think that Ares for real thought that war and genocide were a tradition for human kind. He has no hate for humanity, only deep disappointment, with high hopes of Justin in his soul and reality where humanity hits a new low again and again. So Ares finds termination of humanity the only "cure" , aka war on humans to end all wars and no longer they will hurt anyone. Him murdering Justin was probably a mercy kill too. Ares simply doesn't understand the purpose of living a life so full of pain if you can just stop. First ever doomerpilled pro-suicide robot.
7723 is also created as a weapon. Created to destroy/stop Ares. 7723 wasn't planned on finding a random kid and becoming her dad/older bro figure. He fell in love with the flawed humanity as dr.Rice did. Like, yes, humanity sucks, but among the worst people there are always good ones. Like if one creates a poison, there will be another to make an antidote and there's beauty in one's will to live. If not meeting Mai, 7723 would probably accept the doomer narrative of Ares. But he does not. They literally don't have to fight, their creators are dead, they both don't have to follow their will.
Local pacifist gives the killing machine an exsistential crisis!! Not clickbate!
Naruto-Steven Universe-Charlie Hazbin therapy works and Ares decides not to kill everyone yet.
If they had human faces and expressions this is how they'd look at each other. Doomer and Bloomer(both Reze)
There's something so interesting about thinking of robot's emotions...Ares knows how fast his missiles will hit the target, but he doesn't know the tenderness of holding an origami bird in his hand.
And 7723 wants to show him that some humans are worth it. Imagine Ares feeling genuine frustration at not being able to cry like humans do, to emote the pain somehow. "Napalm scorched earth" is how he feels. And 7723 is the only one who can understand him. And as a reformed chud Ares goes to touch grass and leaves the Grainland to find the whales with 7723.
I will...write a fic...one day...I promise. Also, people from Next Gen server, hi👋👋
