The only thing funnier than Hank being the subject of foot fetishists in universe is them going "you know what would make him stand out more? Being a catboy" like it makes me wonder about what was the thought process behind those decisions
😏well i have a few ideas
Sometimes I look at the bugs you share and either think "they could make a Pokemon out of this" or "the Trolls would love hanging out with these critters"
I dunno anything about Pokemon or Trolls but I bet you're right
Salem's about to get her own armies of the world rising up against her and I think she's expecting it
That’s the thing that’s getting me.
The shot of Salem in this episode shows that she wanted this broadcast to go out.
She wanted Ruby to unmask her.
And I don’t know what that means—well I do know what that means first of all, it means Cinder is in so much trouble for going off-script—but aside from that...there is nothing more terrifying than Salem just smiling during what by all rights should be a loss for her.
I feel like the tragic thing is any genuinely noble huntsman wouldn't have stuck around a "we do not serve faunus" hotel long enough to pick up on anything wrong they could address
Absolutely. The fact that somewhere like that could be so busy so often is a pretty damning look at Atlas society. We always knew they were bigoted assholes, but the fact that the prejudice is so openly displayed and nobody gives it a second thought is pretty incredible.
I’ve been thinking a lot since yesterday about Atlas society and how its primary asset is its military that one has to imagine is mostly people from Mantle joining up as their primary means of upward social mobility. But then so much of their responsibility is regulating and controlling the peace in Atlas and Mantle rather than improving life for anyone.
It’s never been about actual improvement, it’s about having human resources to throw into the machine to maintain the status quo, which is why Ironwood’s first instinct is to bail on everyone else and just keep Atlas running as it is, as it always has been, but even that is clearly a flawed plan when the working class that keeps Atlas society literally afloat would be left behind.
The kind of selfish self-preservation that always leads to things unraveling is a central part of Atlesian society.
Have you seen Meowpurrdy by Cyriak?
i have not but googling that,,, looks interesting
But wasn't it called the affordable care act at first and people only started calling it Obamacare afterwards? And don't politicians still call it ACA and the only people calling it Obamacare are being sardonically dismissive? Sounds like control over the narrative isn't as easily controlled as you think
If you want me to get really specific in order to make my points, that distinction works for some people. And changing the wording for different issues helps reach out to some people. I’m aware that not everyone will listen but if you’re not willing to ever change your wording to reach out to some more people then I don’t think that’s helpful. This isn’t the gotcha that you think it is.
They explained that Westview existed but the Hex erased all memory and records of it to anyone that knew of it directly and keeps them from noticing it.
Ooh okay! That makes sense. Perfect sense. Thank you so much cause I was giving myself a headache lol.
