i think most of it is directed towards the fandom honestly, which is the part that hurts because the behavior of some people shouldn’t have any impact on how one perceives a ship in a fictional setting. i guess it just hurts cuz i didn’t really join any fandom (didn’t even know this shit existed) until i had already watched most of the show and had pretty solid ships in my head because that was my impression from the episodes i watched. decisions i made for my own reasons, that have yet to be invalidated, in my opinion, by fandom or canon.
