According to showrunner Pete Nowalk, it hasn’t necessarily been the plan for Wes to return ever since he was killed off. Rather, “this idea came about during our break between Season 5 and 6,” as Nowalk was plotting Murder‘s final batch of episodes.

And though he remains tight-lipped about the specifics of Wes’ comeback, Nowalk can confirm that Alfred Enoch’s character “definitely factors into our series ending in a big way.” - tvline

because the white show runner is a racist who thinks it’s convenient to kill black people off for shock value and to further his shitty, dumb dramatic plots that no one gives a fuck about anymore.

every time i think i can’t be any more disgusted with the writing of this show, i’m proven wrong. this is the worst treatment of characters that i’ve ever seen in my life — and no, it’s not just because “the story didn’t go my way”. it’s because all that the white show runner cares about is butchering characterization for the sake of the shittiest shock value and dramatic storylines that i’ve ever witnessed.

Did you think Laurel really loved Wes? I fet like their relationship was genuine and very precious, but that was before I found out she cheated on him. It’s heart breaking, but I’d like some opinion on Laurel’s love for Wes. Even though like what the others said, it’s mainly guilt talking and not love… *sighs sadly*

Diana here…personally, the way I’m looking at this ridiculous turn of events is it’s just Pete & the writers ruining everything and I’m not going to consider it canon. As far as I’m concerned, the show ended before Wes died (and before their stupid fight). So, yes in season 3 canon Laurel really loved Wes. She did not cheat on him, she would never do that. What we have now is a pod Laurel. It’s very sad and frustrating, but did anyone expect better from Pete? I had hoped he’d let her be this season before throwing her back to Frank, but sadly I was very wrong. 

(And sidenote, based on what people have said about that episode -that Laurel said cheating on Wes was the biggest regret of her life -I’m assuming they’re trying to portray still that she really did love him. But. Yeah. At this point they just ruined it & her character too much for drama nonsense)

For those who are unclear about the f*ckery, here's a quick recap. Last week, Laurel started sleeping with Frank AGAIN and this week we learned she slept with him last season too! She even tried to sleep with him in Wes' bed. Now, the baby's paternity is in question. What's this show's obsession with disrespecting everything Wes related? Laurel's a pathological liar and a snake. Her grief is actually guilt. She's been hypercritical of everyone else when she's the biggest offender. Pete's trash.
