Alissa, 2017
Digging through the annals of history this morning. Why did I stop doing these double exposures? Here’s what I remember. Alissa is someone I love working with on so many levels, not the least of which is that the work we’ve made together is so consistently unique and amazing. I also remember using my Argus C3 for this because that camera is so easy to take a double exposure with you’re likely to do it on accident once or twice a roll anyway. I remember that this was the first shoot for Lazy Jane and more or less to date it’s the only time I used a studio to shoot this series, I hauled a lot of props into that space to give it a lived in look. I don’t know why I don’t take as many double exposures as I once did, I’m going to get back to that. This is one of just two times I’ve shot with Portra 160, and the only time I’ve developed it at box speed.
