How do you know so much about animals??? Have you got a degree or is it just interest and research?

Just interest! I hyperfixated on animals from when I was a baby, and back then they played BBC nature documentaries on mainstream TV networks that featured things like velvet worms and deep-sea siphonophores so that was all really easily accessible to me.My mom really nurtured and encouraged this and it took me a long time to realize how rare that was. She wasn’t into biology or science herself but she’d describe to me what she did know and I can remember the very moment I learned what a sea urchin and a sea anemone were, both of which blew my mind at the time. She’d buy me stacks and stacks of adult-level biology books from thrift stores, and insect field guides. I wanted to be in biology but got screwed out of continuing college so now I just share the things I know in blog posts I guess

You want to make a comic? For personal reasons or for art school? Cause I was just going to say that as a reader, I don't mind at all when style is inconsistent. I just love the characters and effort and work that goes into it! Plus, all the comics I read have long wait times between pages, so I don't see the inconsistencies until I do a reread. Even then it's neat to see how the art evolves! Basically, you're amazing no matter what and I don't think you should simplify your art :)

It is a personal project and it’s very dear to my heart. I want to make it perfect and want to pour all my heart into it, but somehow I have a hard time doing that. It’s like I’m too exhausted to do big illustrations which is bothering me, but I really want to start with my comic, so I thought about to simplify my artstyle so I wouldn’t have to worry about it too much. But then I have the feeling I won’t do the story justice. I really love the characters I created. They are all my babies and deserve to be drawn the best I can. I have a lot of trouble with my skill right now and a lot of people tell me I’m just a perfectionist and need to chill and all that, but I can’t switch it off. Everybody tells me to draw in my usual style, but my usual style takes a lot of effort, because it’s more on the realistic side and it’s driving me insane when something looks off to me. And it always does. I just have a hard time drawing at the moment. Thank you for your compliment tho <3

Paintbrushes: Do you have a creative past-time? 

Pretty on the nose answer- but I do draw! Mostly digitally because I can’t keep track of 50+ markers every time I wanna color something. Also a different route- but I’ve gotten back into LEGO stuff lately??? Not bricks and stuff but the motor kits and such- a place near me is doing a Lego battlebot club sorta thing, and I’m bringing my own as a model since the class is primarily full of kids

in all seriousness though- I guess I’d have to say my hair? I mean I’m not exactly hot shit in terms of looks if you’re asking me, but I’ve been growing it out for ages now, and I like getting a ton of different options when it comes to styling it (braids especially)

1: when you have cereal, do you have more milk than cereal or more cereal than milk? Honestly I try and make a good 50/50 split, but probably more milk than cereal.

30: think of it: have you ever been truly scared? Well, yes of course I’ve been scared before. Not really sure as to the parameters of truly scared, but if we’re talking deeply, legitimately terrified and horrified, then yes. Yes I have.

32: tell us a story of something that happened to you after 3AM when you were with friends. Okay so there aren’t a lot of instances when I was in physical company past 3am so I’ve got mmmaybe one story. I got invited to a friend’s place for a sleepover ages ago, like we’re talking years here. Now, my sleep schedule is fucked beyond comprehension, but essentially it was unanimously agreed upon that the first person to fall asleep would be subject to something ridiculous. Nothing bad like a sharpie mustache, but when someone fell asleep, we took all of our pillows, and stacked them on top of the person who had fallen asleep, one by one. A giant pillowy Jenga tower. It took an incredible feat of engineering know how, balance, and timed breathing. Of course we all had to sleep without pillows, but it was worth it when they woke up in the morning and the entire tower came tumbling down.

OK can you please tell me what oxenfree is like is it a game or a comic or a radioshow what is it PLEASE TELL ME KIND STRANGER I MUST KNOW

you messaged me while i was a sleep so this took a while, but Oxenfree is a game! ppl have described it as Life Is Strange meets Until Dawn, which i think is pretty apt, although i’ve never played Until Dawn.

it’s basically about a bunch of kids going to an island and tuning into some Really Weird radio broadcasts while they’re there. it’s got abandoned WWII bases, really well written characters, weird time stuff, a lot of player choice and pretty good horror elements (although i’m not sure it’s a straight-up horror game, it’s very mystery/adventure at the same time). oh and tons of secrets. if you like ‘everything is 100% solved & explained’ endings this game may not be for you.

it’s pretty great! you might want to play it at night with headphones for maximum enjoyment

Moly moly I love your blog so much! You actually inspired me to start making a few of my own! Do you have any advice? Like where to get the text posts, proper etiquette when using them, etc? Um yeah thank you! Keep up the good work :)

Honestly, my best advice for getting text posts to use is just “scroll through tumblr.” You’ll inevitably run across some good ones just on your own dashboard. If you’re lucky you’ll find posts which already fit the meme structure (text posts on images), and you can “harvest” from those. There are also a few active blogs which catalog popular or funny text posts, so I recommend seeking those out.

As for etiquette, one thing I always, always do, unless there is no possible way to do so, is include the OP’s URL with the text post. I don’t like it when people just use the body of the text post without including the URL. The OP should get credit for making the post in the first place.

Finally, if someone asks you to stop using posts from their blog in your memes, comply, and do it immediately. If you have any posts in your queue that use text posts from that blog, delete them. They have the right to determine how they wish their posts to be used.
