Wanna yap for a moment bout Alex

Alex doesn’t view Damian or Nora as her friends. At least, in the beginning she doesn’t. When she first meets the two, she doesn’t view them as friends because, 1. She doesn’t even know what friends are until Damian tells her, and 2. it’s kinda hard to find people you truly trust after getting most of your memories erased, and even if Alex says that they’re the only people she can trust, she only means it in that partially as their the only people who know her secret and won’t get her captured again. She only calls herself Damian’s friend because 1. In hopes that he won’t tell anyone about her secret, 2. He has taught her about so many things she forgot about, and 3. That’s how Damian views her, as his friend, not that he’s her friend.

So she uses words like Companion and Ally to describe them internally. This way she thinks she isn’t lying to herself.

But later on, the reasoning changes from “I don’t know if I should trust them” to “I’m better than them” and “I’m using them” even if she doesn’t understand that isn’t the case. After disbanding the Sky Cult (which happens much sooner like after you beat Jaern for the first time (he isn’t gone for good tho)) it becomes increasingly apparent that Alex’s skills in terms of battling far surpasses that of Damian’s and Nora’s. She’s even able to beat the both of them in a 1v2! That causes her confidence in her abilities to skyrocket. She’s able to handle the rest of the cults most part on her own, with assistance from Nora and Damian ofc, but still Alex does most of the heavy lifting. Most trainers she fights lose quickly to her which makes her somewhat arrogant. Though she never shows it as she always keeps her act as a middle ground to Nora and Damian’s bickering.

That and the fact that Alex keeps hearing that the previous Augur was such a good person for being selfless and the fact that he fought all the cults by himself (this isn’t true but it’s what his cult following believes and it’s a very popular idea spreading around. Oh yeah, the augur (whoever holds the title at the time) has a cult/religious following. More on that later.) Makes her believe that she is a shitty person for dragging Nora and Damian to help what she alone should be able to do, and that she is using them to further her goal of disbanding all the cults. Whenever they, or anyone for that matter, ask for her help, Alex only agrees because she thinks that it will help her out too.

Alex is very self conscious about these “flaws” and not at all about her true flaw of accepting the fact that she can’t do stuff alone. Through out the fic she’s gonna be criticizing herself about how she is so selfish for helping others only to “help herself”. Even when she [REDACTED FOR SPOILERS] at the Infernal Base, she thinks that she does it because of her ego preventing her from fulfilling the false Prophecy, but while that is true, she also did it so that she couldn’t hurt the region or the people that she deep down cares about.

Alex has to learn that she does care for people and that asking for help doesn’t mean that you’re using the people around you. Alex is not a manipulative person at all but she doesn’t really understand that herself. In the end, though shes gonna learn how. How to ask for help, what friends really are, and how not to feel like a shitty person.

Also fun fact, Alex shares a MBTI type with Mizi from Alien Stage! ESFP!

Okay It's been awhile since I last posted on here. I got an update on life

The first few chapters of An Insurgent's Guide to Saving Torren are probably going to be rewritten.

Mainly because I cringe everytime I read them.

But also because I stumbled upon something.

Apperently there is something called Waardenburg Syndrome. As read from the NlH, "Waardenburg syndrome is an auditory-pigmentary disorder comprising congenital sensorineural hearing loss and pigmentary disturbances of the iris, hair, and skin."

I'll be going with Waardenburg Syndrome Type two for this, though it is similar to type 1.

Almost half of the people with this syndrome have a white forelock (white streak of hair in the front) and the people with this syndrome commonly have complete heterochromia iridium (each eye has a different colour.)

....you can see were I am going with this going.

But the most common part of this syndrome is the congenital sensorineural hearing loss. Basically hearing loss from birth due to internal stuff.

You may have figured out that I may be planning on giving Alex this as an explaination for her hair and eyes (even if the eye colour isn't the same as normal people with the syndrome.) Meaning, Alex may be hard of hearing.

That might be fun to write.

Hi, so, um

Guess what?

Both over and over and AIGtST are being entirely rewritten. (well the plot stays the same for over and over).

Mainly because I just learned of the wonders of world building and I cringe everytime I read any of the old fics.

I don't know when they'll be out tho.

As a April Fools present, I will be giving y’all actual Insurgence au Ideas I have but never fully acted on (for canon and oc characters)

Ahem

Jaern mellows out and doesn’t seal away Adam because he went to therapy thanks to the help of Adam for suggesting it after he started to realize Jaern may just subconsciously want a lot of power. So now he and Adam are married and is essentially the A^3’s step dad post game because now he gets sealed away alongside Adam and now there is no Augur during main story insurgence.

In the Rival Alex timeline, the player dies at the darkrai base and Jaern some how breaks the Crystal because of how incredibly stupid he is, so now Audrey is able to flood the entirety of Torren (and the world soon after) and decides to have her grunts take her son and one person he holds dear to let them live…so Damian and Alex get kidnapped since Audrey doesn’t care for her ex and the grunts saw Damian’s step mom belittling him again. Alissa hears this since the world being flooded is pretty big news and Damian’s parents probably would’ve called her, so now Audrey has to deal with an angry Alissa who is about to shoot everyone.

The prophecy of betreyal is real but there isn’t anything saying that they’d directly defeat ALL the cults. This is because the traitor is Calreath who gets mind controlled into joining Infernal. Diana is absolutely suffering at this while Persephone thinks this is karma. Alex still saves the day tho.

Funny main timeline divergent au where everything is the same except instead of being a Delta Charizard, Alex’s Casper is an Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon. Literally nothing else changes except that. (Got this idea from a funny odd eyes sprite I saw on the insurgence discord)

Au where Rekura and Sylvan are pretending to be divorced (look there’s got to be a reason why shes so chill with him being champion)

I have another au but I actually worked on it and hehehehe will yap on it later.

Background (Pre Violet)

Alani Ekdikio, youngest of her sisters, was born and lived in Miara Town for the first 9 months of her life before the town was destroyed by cultists. Adam took her and her sisters in, and Alani got her shiny Eevee at age 6 which evolved into a Sylveon and got the nickname "Nymphia" at age 9. Adam taught his daughters a lot about the world as compensation for them not being allowed out of the house, so when he teaches them about how the Justice system works in around the world and how cases work and all that, Alani get's inspired to be a detective/lawyer when she grows up and gets to leave! Luckily for her, Adam says that if she passes the Uva Academy’s entrance exam, he'll let her go to Paldea to study there (in secret of course thanks to the fact that he's augur and a gym leader giving him connections). She passes with an 100% after studying super hard for a year, and leaves to Paldea via private jet (i still need to iron that out a bit)

No lore post back story yet since Im making a fic for her!

Personality: She’s very nice, tries not to get into problems that don't relate to her, and will try to not get other people into her problems. Does not know that she is attractive, and has unknowingly flirted with all the friends her age, which is ironic since she is VERY aroace. She has no tolerance for bullshit however and will flame you. Very pacifist by nature (both for Pokemon battles and human ones) but if you piss her off, she will sue you so hard you'll be in debt for life. That or she'll get you arrested. Still, you'd have to piss Alani off very bad for that to happen, which is very unlikely.

This ramble took forever and I ended up not speaking bout most of it.
