Hi!! I read Ariah by B.R. Sanders thanks to your rec and I absolutely adored it! Def one of my fav books ever?? I’ve tried to find information about the author and book 2 but so far everything seems a dead end (deleted accounts, abandoned pages, etc.) beside old interviews. Since you’re the one that read Ariah before, I was hoping that perhaps you know what happened? Thank you!
yes i believe the author has stepped away from writing entirely due to health issues, iirc. i dont remember where i read that or if that page still exists, since i was looking this up at the start of this year when i finished ariah. no idea if they gave more information in years prior, but it does unfortunately look like they have no plans to come back to writing.
as for their other books - there are a few, but they are very difficult to get your hands on, if they're not outright lost media.
there's even this ^ user-added entry on storygraph that implies there might be up to six books in the ariah (?) universe. but ive only ever seen Resistance be available in places like ebay or occasionally abebooks.
oddly enough, while looking this up again just now, i found paperback copies of both Extraction and Resistance on sale right now on amazon and decided to scoop those up. for research purposes. because ive never seen them available like that. and they seem to be print on demand, so now might be a good time to grab them if you're interested. it looks like you can read them with kindle unlimited too, if you have that.
but that's all ive got! maybe there's still a way to privately contact them to find out about the rest of the aerdh books, but i havent gone down that road yet.
Fantasy fiction is best known for its giant, door-stopping series that come in trilogies or longer. Of course, not everyone wants to embark
