okay i finished 'katabasis' and here's why i think some of my beloved moots would enjoy it:

• bone constructs and corsets

• a really creative magic system (well it's a rf kuang book after all)

• an inferno inspired trip to the underworld

• orpheus and eurydice type coodependency

• female lead with 8483839 unadressed mental illnesses

• pirate ships

• wonderful mixture of dark academia and fantasy

• intertextual references all the waaay

• blood <3

• insane woman called gertrude

you’ve probably answered this already, but do you have any good recs (books or articles) on the sex trade and marriage especially to debunk the marrying rich or “high class escorting” but really anything under marriage and sex work. I really want to learn more about it from a feminist pov. Right now I’m reading a crudely translated ePub of Richard Poulin’s La mondialisation des industries du sexe and it’s really good at detailing the vast landscape of the global sex trade and how impoverished women and children are trafficked by pimps.

As for marriage, The Creation of Patriarchy by Gerda Lerner traces its development through history.
