i appreciate the chivalry. - annie january
this set is . . . well it's busy . way more busy than colt anticipated , for some reason . actually , he's pretty sure it hasn't been this busy , at least not that he's been witness to , so far . everyone looks like they're scrambling , a couple interns ( andrew and sam , he's pretty sure . he introduced himself last week ) look near frantic as they race by -- he just barely manages to pull back at the last second and save his coffee , small miracles . he's so occupied looking around , trying to figure out the source of the commotion , that he doesn't realize that he's holding the stage door open -- or , rather , he doesn't realize who he's holding it open for .
he blinks , glances down , blinks some more . " you are very welcome , ma'am . " he manages to get it out -- after a good five seconds of staring stupidly , and taking a few jogged steps to catch up . he's only really met her a handful of times , which is why he feels so surprised to see her . he's sure she's been here , somewhere on set , doing her job -- it just seems like colt's job has been on the opposite end for the past couple of weeks . he's always either jumping out a window , or telling someone how to rest the muscle they just pulled .
" i mean i wouldn't really -- call it chivalry , just being polite , you know ? but i guess common human decency kind of goes out the window sometimes , like i do . anyways , " he breathes , stopping only for the few seconds it takes him to take a drink , the furrow in his brow growing as he watches one of his safety crew rush by , " something going on ? did the set like , explode while i was on break ? "
