An Impromptu road trip to Broken Hill, NSW. Also known as the Silver City. The first UNESCO listed city in Australia. Everywhere you look everything is built with corrugated iron. Houses and mining sites are built with this material. This is one of the many mining sites in Broken Hill. This one here is currently in disused. But one can imagine the hum of the engines and motors bring up ore from the earth and miners down into the bleak darkness of the mine shafts. In the background, there is a dust storm brewing

Took this picture on a straight portion of the highway. Not many plants or trees growing due to the current drought which is taking its toll on the rural and remote areas of Australia. The PM of Australia says the drought has nothing to do with climatic change. PM says that it will pass, but it is hard to believe this is true when cities have to go through water rationing, dry dams, and uncontrollable bushfires.
