MILES WAS PARTICULARLY CAREFUL as he swung around the next building. may didn’t seem to have a problem with speed, but he still didn’t want to jostle her too much ( he’d just done a thorough clean of his suit & he wasn’t so keen to do it again so soon ). miles had been sure that swinging with a toddler would slow him down --- or, rather, he thought that following all of peter’s rules about swinging with a toddler would slow him down.
BUT MAYDAY WAS RESILIENT. & demanding. the little kicks he got when he’d first started had spurred him faster, swinging at a speed she liked. it still wasn’t enough to lose peter in this game of theirs ( no web zipping was part of the rules after all ) but all three of them were having fun &, maybe, with some good timing, they could lose him long enough to claim victory.
THERE WERE A FEW BUILDINGS NEARBY THAT COULD GIVE HIM SUCH AN ADVANTAGE. they were close together with surfaces that were highly reflective. a quick turn here & there, a shift to invisible for a few good seconds ( it wouldn’t work on may, but it might still be enough to confuse peter if he did it right) & use of the reflections might give them just enough time to throw his mentor off.
