July Update

Hi everyone! After a month we’ve actually made some progress, so let’s get the ball rolling and talk about what’s up with our current projects.

DOLLED UP

Desruc Doll’s GUI is almost complete! There are a few coding issues to hammer out, but once that is done we will be able to release a new demo for the game: though truthfully, there are still a few images missing from the demo that we also need to complete. Here’s a sneak peek at a few of the finished screens!

CRAFTING A STORY

Minecraft: Story Mode Season 3 is on hold; primarily due to the fact that finishing the dating sim will already finish a good amount of the assets for Season 3, as well as the fact that I haven’t really put too much thought into Season 3 itself. 

Also, writers need to be... ‘hired’ for that, since this will be a free fan-project. While I have the basis of an idea, I want to also get other writers on board to help, as an entire five episodes is difficult to write.

In the meantime, Behind the Scenes has several scenes finished; and once we finish the general route we will begin coding the game and it’s most needed (and most complicated) assets. 

I’m thinking about releasing a poll to see how the players want to receive the routes: all at once, in small updates as they are complete, or allowing some beta players to play the entire route beforehand.

FATE OF A STORY

Fata Morgana is still in the middle of progress due to the above projects. Once Desruc Dolls and the dating sim are well into production, we will begin working on Fata Morgana in earnest. We apologize that the other projects we have been working on have taken attention away from this game.

We apologize for our general lack of progress and hope that by the end of August we can really get the ball rolling on Desruc Dolls (which will be renamed) and Behind the Scenes so that Fata Morgana can finally begin work!

Hi! In one of your posts you talked a bit about the Sequential Art department at SCAD but also mentioned minoring in animation-- what's your opinion on that department from what you've seen?

Fun fact about that, if everything works out as I hope it does I am going to be applying for a double major and getting my B.F.A in Animation.They’re pretty outstanding actually, the  2D desks are a bit out of date they’re originally from Disney golden days, but the 3D animation resources are unbelievable. 

One of my teachers for 2D Animation, Troy A. Gustafson, used to work for Disney as well and let you tell me what this guy will scare passion into you. He is the most powerful and intensely in love with animation individual I have ever met. He makes you want to do more and to be more diligent with your art. He is primarily an effects animator but he has worked on films like Mulan and Lilo and Stitch doing the smoke and water effects. There is a lot of work to be done there, and they’re gonna hit you hard if you go for them. There have been some changes that are a bit controversial in the department when it comes to senior films but really they’re working out the kinks in it that and I think it will polish out by the time you get there if you pursue it.

How are you today? I’m doing great! I finally managed to finish the first draft of Chapter 26! Super excited to finally type it out after a month.

Anyway, I have an idea where we can meet up. There’s this vineyard that Renee’s family owns but never uses. Renee is someone Ariza might know as Musa by the way, but details. I asked her if we can use it to meet up and hang out and she said it was fine. I’ll send the address in the chat.

Hmm? What was that? Oh who’s coming? Well, everyone obviously. And no, Mason isn’t coming after... you know. Red hasn’t answered my text but we’ll see.
