The office asked the federal court to order the continued detention of Talaiasi. He posed a threat to potential partners in the siege if he boarded a plane to return to Arizona to await trial.
The girl managed to relay a message to her father, who was in a different row of seats on the plane, and contacted the flight crew who separated Talaiasi's daughter, the office said.
Talaiasi was arrested after the plane reached Anchorage, the office said.
According to the memo, in an interview with the FBI, Talaiasi admitted "that he had bad thoughts when he saw the miner next to him and described the devil who tempted him" and said he "succumbed to temptation" .
No talaiasis lawyer has been named in the online court records to speak on his behalf.
