an attempt to theri taming!

hi loves! today an update i’ve been really excited about! let’s dive in.

i’ve been wanted a theri for ages now. they’re cool and strong and powerful and fucking scary (for real). so this time i finally decided it was time to tame one.

first i had to find a high level one. i also wanted a female theri. unfortunately i only kept finding high or max level MALES. i’d been searching for so long and then i finally found a decent and tame worthy female theri. i still wanted to look for a better one, but i knew i couldn’t find one and i was quite done with searching. so i killed that one and brought its implant with me. i already had the trap set up from taming that allo and i had a big bear trap left. i made the trap ready and revived her.

for a moment it went alright. i got to shoot quite soon tranq arrows in her head and body, but then she suddenly was free. escaped. i didn’t know that was possible because i had a strong trap. but okay, change of plans. my argy and i led her from the platform to the beach and tried to tame it there. i couldn’t find a good rock or anything, so it went a little clumsy. i decided to try the bear trap again and i led it in. 5 seconds later it was free again. this time it definitely came for me. it hit me a few times and apparently also my bird. the argy (oreo, btw) went mad.

oreo is kinda op and almost killed it, until i managed to get her on passive in time. with only a so much health left, i put some tranqs in her again and she was finally down after a small run. 8 health left. one dilo, raptor or even a punch from me and it would be done. i put loads of veggies in its inventory plus some bio toxin, and the taming could begin. it went hella slow, so i also purchased a minor soothing balm which went a little better.

after a little while the theri woke up nicely and got a few extra levels. while i didn’t have any engram points anymore to unlock a theri saddle, i did have an ascendant their blueprint (idk where from) so i crafted up that one instead (i’m now level 70 so i did level up later but i’m not gonna learn the saddle when i already have a blueprint). so i took it home, made the saddle and tested her out. she’s a good level, has awesome stats and she’s so so useful! she’s also got beautiful colours, i really like the blue. i’m really happy with her.

ankylosaurus tame

hi! it’s been a while. i’ve been playing a lot of ark but i haven’t been writing updates as much, so i’ve got a lot to post. recently i thought it was time the tame another one of the gatherers. the metal gatherer.

this whole tame wasn’t as interesting, but it was easy. i found a near max level after a really short time. i took it with me on oreo (my argentavis) and put it in the breeding/taming pin. from there it was pretty easy to shoot it and knock it. feeding went well too.

she’s a nice green colour and she really helps with gathering the metal. if any of you have any name suggestion, drop them in the comments!

the first cave

hi everyone! today i randomly decided to do my first cave. it came out of nowhere. i was just bored and since i’ve never done a cave before, i thought it would be a good idea to try it. and i’m not gonna lie, i was kinda scared.

here’s what happened in a short summary!

since it was my first time, i didn’t know what to bring and how much of it. did some research on an ark website. i also looked through some creatures that spawn in the cave.

i did the cave of the south by the way! it’s the easiest cave on the island and contains the artifact of the strong.

i went with my baryonyx! he (nerva) is one of the best dinos i have and also is a good caving dino.

flew with my argy and bary on the back to the cave. i have watched youtubers doing caves so i knew how it worked.

once in, i immediately had a lot of fun. the dinos were mostly spiders and they were really easy. some scorpions too and saw around three snakes and luckily only one arthropleura.

got kinda lost the first time lol. i did have the map of the cave nearby so eventually i did find the artifact!

i got the artifact without any problems and got out as well!

finally something that i didn’t fail at hopelessly!

went to tribute the artifact. i loved doing it. i’ve never been it before so it was quite special. obviously it was the easiest cave so i didn’t expect loot that was too good. i got three blueprints, one for a metal pickaxe, a metal hatchet and some hide gloves. i haven’t checked it out very well yet tho.

i’m just really happy i did this. it’s way easier than i thought and i’m glad i did it. will definitely do another and harder cave soon! :)

new tapejaras

yesterday i got my male and orange tapejara switched for a female and purple one. she’s really pretty and now i’ve got the eggs too.

moments later i realised i should’ve kept the male so that i perhaps could breed them and try to get mutations. but alright

ARK se - 3

terror bird tame

today i tried taming a terror bird since i’d really like one, their little fly is so cute and they can be pretty deadly. i only found males and low level ones. when i did find one after a long time i thought i’d take it away with my bird since i hate the redwoods because of all the dangerous creatures in it (not my favourite place to tame).

when i had the bird pretty close to my house where i could easily tame it and get more biotoxin, kibble or meat if needed. but i wasn’t prepared at all so i just dropped the bird and hope it didn’t wander away. when i got the biotoxin and some more tranqs i couldn’t find the bird anymore. later i found it fighting with a trike.

but then when i wanted to knock it out, i killed it by accident. i didn’t look at its hp so did not see that it was already low health from the trike attack. well, got the implant so might as well revive, or just search for a new one. but this chicken was high level so i do kinda want it back. updates will follow soon, and i will not let it die once again.
