Why I like them: he’s so strong and selfless?? he’s not nearly as stubborn as people say he is, and i love that he can admit his mistakes and faults. he had to endure so much shit in his life, and he still sets out to reclaim erebor, not for him, but for his people?? and he’s so soft and gentle at times?? with his nephews and with bilbo and everyone really. thorin oakenshield is the love of my love (i could go on and on and on tbh)

Why I don’t: i don’t this this is the character’s fault, but i really hate how scenes we get of him and fili together (as opposed to kili). idk, i just wish he’d show more affection for fili (in the movie, i’m sure he does off screen)

Favorite episode (scene if movie): him coming forth from the light in botfa and headbutting kili and the smILE?? rip me

Favorite season/movie: botfa

Favorite line: “i have the only right” chills, every single time. i think this is mostly because of the way richard says this? because it’s so low and quiet, but still so determined and sure and with a layer of pride in it

Favorite outfit: that blue one he wears in the prologue

OTP: thorin/life but also bagginshield of course

Brotp: dwalin/thorin all the way

Head Canon: i think his mother was the one who taught him how to play the harp. even if his father and grandfather wanted him to learn about kingship and ruling and fighting, i can totally see his mom seeing the soft and gentle side in him and just wanting him to have a passion where he can embody that side of himself fully and truly (na toll addi jetzt muss das in die fic, die side-plots in meinem kopf laufen grad auf hochtouren :D)

Unpopular opinion: idk

A wish: same as bilbo. just him, happy and alive, without any responsibilites and fears and self-hatred issues weighing him down
