GUYS Arlesa headcanon !!! (my favorite so far hehehe)

Arlecchino teaches Varesa to be a better fighter.

They met in Fontaine, Varesa was delivering some ingredients to Escoffier, it was an accident. Neither thought much of it at first, but as the day went on they kept running into each other. Arlecchino became suspisious, thinking that Varesa was stalking her. She ordered Lynette to spy on Varesa, and so she did.

She followed her the whole day and at some point Varesa vent on a walk just outside of Fontaine walk. Varesa stumbled upon a hilichurl camp, lured in by the smell of grilled meat. Lynette was unsure if she should help her or not, but Varesa soon prooved that she could handle herself. She easily defeated the hilichurls and took some of their food.

When Lynette returned to the House of Hearth she reported about the extraordinary fighting abilities of her target. Arlecchino was intrigued. She ordered Lynette to pretend to be overpowered by hilichurls and make Varesa save her. Everything went as it was planned and soon after Arlecchino send Varesa an invite to a dinner at House of the Hearth, as a way to show her gratitude for saving her daughter.

After the dinner Arlecchino shared her amazement of Varesa's fighting skills (she said that Lynette told her how the fight went but actually she was watching it from a distance) and asked her for a friendly spar. (insert description of an epic fight here) Arlecchino didn't really think about the fight, it was easy for her, but she was very much analazing her oponent. She saw Varesa's clumsiness, but she also saw her impressive speed and raw strengths, and so Varesa was deemed worth investment.

Arlecchino offered her a place at the House of the Hearth and said that she could teach her to fight. Varesa was conflicted, she didn't want to leave her community in Natlan behind but she really wanted to learn more. They agreed that Varesa will go back to Natlan to consult with her friends and then she will come back with her final decision.

Varesa talked with everyone, but especially listened to Iansan. She said that it was a good training oportunity and that "it's not like you're moving away forever, it's just for a couple of months". And so the decision was made and Varesa moved to Fountaine.

She trained with some of the Fatui soldiers, but it was more to give her a break from sparring with Arlecchino.

As months passed Varesa felt more at home in Fontaine and, especially, in House of the Hearth. She became closer with Arlecchino and learned a few things about her from Lyney and Lynett but also Aether and Paimon. She still sent letters to Natlan, telling her friends about her training, but the longer she stayed the less letters she sent.

Arlecchino kept her distance with Varesa, only training her and rarely having any conversations outside of it. She was interested in her potential, not her personality, she told herself, but the denial only lasts so long. Soon it was impossible to ignore how right Varesa's presense was, how it lit up the room and made everyone feel energized while also at ease. The children loved Varesa, even some of the Fatui soldiers did, so it was about time that Arlecchino came to terms with her feelings, like an adult y'know.

She allowed herself to be dragged on mini-dates by Varesa. She would show her places in Fontaine only lockals knew about, they would go to caffe's to taste food, they would firendly-spar somewhere outside in the field and then have a picknick. Every day Arlecchino would let her guard down just enough to enjoy Varesa's company.

But everything has to come to an end. The months have passed and it was time for Varesa to depart to Natlan. It hurt, both of them. Varesa cried her eyes out and promised to send Arlecchino, Lyney, Lynette and Fremine postcards every day. Arlecchino remained stoick and didn't teel anyone when hre curse spread out just a little bit more.

When Varesa came back she wasn't the same. She had grown and changed and now she felt out of place in Natlan just like she felt out of place in Fontaine when she first arrived. She kept her promise, sending Arlecchino letters nearly every day, even if she barely ever got an answer.

She felt the distance grown, she coudln't feel the same joy she used to feel when hanging out with her friends or from food. All she could do was train, imagining Arlecchino by her side. It took a conciderable amount of time for people to notice this change, Iansan confronted her and she admitted that she missed Fontaine and wanted to go back. It was hard to hear that you, her closest friend, weren't enough anymore, but she accepted it. In a few days, Varesa was on her way back to Fontaine.

The day she stepped into Fontaine the second time was the happiest day of her life. She rushed to the House of the Hearth, searching for Arlecchino. ... The force with which Arlecchino pushed her away nearly left a hole in the wall. Don't stratle Arlecchino. (the hugged after that and Arlecchino was very awkward dw)

Varesa joined the Fatui. Arlecchino didn't want her to take that place for granted so she didn't help her to get to higher ranks, she had to do it by herself. (she did pull some strings to make sure that Varesa was stationed in Fontaine though) Varesa was granted a fire delusion and she decorated it Knave-themed (fangirl much) And so she began to serve under Arlecchino's command, slowly but steadily rising through ranks.

The end.

The wlw we will never get, and we don't really need, but I love :)

It all began with a YouTube Reel ...

And damn. I'm that easily influenced. I saw that and immediately though "arlesa??"

At first I was like "pff that's stupid and cringe", but time passed... and I was still thinking about them. I went on Tumblr, Pinterest, TikTok and Reddit. Nothing. I fell into despair. There's no content. People haven't discovered this fire ship yet.

So now I'm here to spread the word ! :D

I know absolutely nothing about Varesa but I love her with my whole heart. Hoyo did her dirty and she deserves so much better. For example a gorgeous, tall, mother-like qpr.
