Nelora had been on the road for nearly a month when she finally reached Jader. A lifelong nomad, she had actually been looking forward to her mission, when it had first been assigned. A chance to be on the move again, see a few new places, escape the ongoing drama at Skyhold... It had looked good on paper; just track down a handful of Inquisition agents and inform them of the decisions made during the Exalted Council. Unfortunately, most of the agents she had been assigned had not been happy to hear her news. It made sense, she supposed. Fewer perks for the same amount of work; it wasn’t a deal most would take. Still, that was no cause for rudeness. Or yelling. Or threats. After a few weeks, she found herself wanting nothing more than to return home.
... Wherever home was, now.
But she had one last stop, before she completed her task. One last agent on the list. She wasn’t expecting her meeting with the pirates to go any more smoothly. They were easy enough to find, at least; the ship had, according to locals, made port in Jader just hours before her own arrival, per the Inquisition’s arrangement. All she had to do was knock on the door, hand the captain Reva’s letter, and be on her way-
Wait, ships didn’t have doors. Was she supposed to get permission before boarding? Would it be rude to just waltz right on up the gangplank and ask to speak to the captain? Would that be considered trespassing?
She really didn’t have much of a choice. Scroll in hand, she made her way up the ramp, relieved when she spotted a crewman as she neared the top.
“Excuse me,” she waved, hoping to catch the man’s attention. “Is the captain on board? I have a message for him, from the Inquisition.”
