Ok, this one I want to share both at once. Because I like wracking focus on some pictures.

Welcome to the next part of
CineStill!
I intended to get the lanterns, but these guys walked out as I was setting up. If I remember correctly, the shutter speed was something along the lines of 30 or 15.
Edit: this is meant to be on my main, but I didn’t pay enough attention when posting this. Reblogged to @aroacephotographer

Happy Pride! And Trans March!
I am going to the Trans March pretty soon to take film photography with a friend. I'm not huge on documenting myself these days. But today it just felt like a good day to show off what I'm wearing. Not pictured: my utility belt or my rainbow top hat.
I am trans/non-binary and agender. That's a big part of my life. And yet a lot of people constantly try to deny that part of my identity.
One example is this woman who owns a cafe really close to my apartment. When I met her and she took my order, she asked for my name. I told it to her (Josie), and she went on to say that that's her son's name. I told her that it's not Joseph, but Josephine. Even after I told her I'm transgender and that I identify more as a woman, she continued to call me by the wrong name. And it felt intentional.
Examples aside, there's been a lot to achieve acceptance in myself. Never mind what other people think. So I wanted to show off what I'm wearing. Oh! And I have an undershirt that says "Trans Rights are Human Rights!"
So today I'm going to take some photos of the fine folks walking in the San Francisco Trans March. It'll be a fun time. Where I'll be called by the right name and be accepted for who I am.
One other thing: I often point out how some of my photos are blurry. But I double checked this photo. On my phone, it's not blurry at all. But it does in the preview pane for the post. So I'm going to conclude that this was compressed a lot. But I'll still file it under "Sigh... it's blurry." Haha
I can't remember if I've shared this one yet. Pride might be over, but I exist the other 11 months out of the year.

These are similar enough that I figured I'd group them together.

You can't tell this from the picture alone. But I ended up in a restaurant to get some clam chowder in a bread bowl. That's why there's a column on the left side like that.
All that to say, if you're in San Francisco, it shouldn't matter if you're in a touristy part of town or not. If you get a chance to try the clam chowder in a bread bowl, go for it. It's sooooo good. Especially the sourdough bread.
