Social Media | Watch Facebook Home "Airplane" Latest Ad
Facebook unveiled its own TV ad for Facebook Home an Android OS for social net-workers just three days after its launch. Called “Airplane” this is Facebook’s first ever television ad campaign across U.S. network and cable programming. The video shows a Businessman in allot less boring trip. But was able to bring excitement to a life that isn’t too boring to the festivity on the plane ride by connecting with friends through Facebook Home on the journey with him. Facebook campaign launched Saturday in a online post, as well as during the NCAA March Madness's Final Four games on CBS. More ads are slated for release in the coming weeks according to sources.
Technology | Philadelphia gets ready to play “Pong” on Building
Must say this is a very cool project by brainchild Frank Lee, professor of game design at Drexel University. The Cira centre, 29-story skyscraper in Philadelphia will become a spotlight of a giant game of pong that will take place. This will be achieved using many hundreds of LED lights that create playable version of the classic Atari game. And many residents will be able to experience this creation. The game will be up from April 19 to the 24 with players selected via a lottery.
He said: “Pong is a cultural icon, cultural milestone. This is my love letter to the wonders of technology as seen through the eyes of my childhood.” And what better reason to do something like this? About 150 people are estimated to get to play over the course of a few days.
The paddles and ball will be created using LED lights, while players stand far back on the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s steps to ensure they get a clear sight of the building. While the majority of the players will be selected via the lottery, a lucky few have reserved gaming slots – namely, students in the technology, engineering, science, and math fields.
One such individual is Brad Denenberg, who won a reserve slot in a random drawing via Tech Week, which is part of the event that took 5 years to make happen. What goes through the mind of someone destined to play the largest, possibly most-public game of Pong ever? “My biggest fear is that I’m going to play against some 8-year-old who will destroy me,” he said.

Social Media | Facebook Unveiled “Facebook Home on Android” A Modified OS on HTC at 4/4 Event
Facebook announced its own Smartphone today with Mark Zuckerberg in the helm to compete with the likes of IPhone, Galaxy S3. These rumors have been speculated by journalist for years now as a mythical device. This is following after April fool’s day. Rumors we’ve heard say that the project was actually called the Face phone. But today it was called the Facebook Home was delivered at the event and will live in a HTC device.
That will run on an Android OS that will not rewrite the Android OS but feature an Android Home screen and Facebook native apps like Messenger, easy social sharing from anywhere on the phone, and more. That will expose Apple’s inflexibility, especially not changing a lot and responding to anybodies road map and pressure apple to offer more customization to his end users and developers. The Apple IOS and android platforms have been large in the market for years now and appealed to mobile consumers.
This should be a good move for Facebook because they’ve been trying to gain control of the mobile market and unable to create their own mobile operating system. And they have been spending on small indie developers to get apps on Facebook. This can help Facebook to make revenue on advertising but that’s if they can succeed with their own version of Android ecosystem. But what does this all mean for consumers why do they want this especially when people care about their friends and social life.
There not heavy email, shoppers, gamers, their social net-workers. But the Facebook Home screen app and messenger is a good replacement to read your notification and feeds, contacts to be piped out in a single glance. You will see all that from liking comments and being more social with friends by getting messages more quickly.
While Facebook mission is to be more connected and open to people with an ambient intimacy to friends to put that app that was buried in the phone into the Home Screen can help make sure you’re aware of what’s going on around you when a friend is nearby at a coffee shop or uploaded photo or read something really cool.
But we want to hear from you if this is what you want on the comments and if this will change the mobile world.
